JOB DETAILS:
We are looking for an Assistant Cost Accountant who will work alongside the Cost Accountant and
Reporting Manager to support the cost accounting department in tracking, analyzing, reporting, and guiding cost decisions within the Group. The primary purpose will be ensuring that financial data related to production, inventory, and operational expenses is accurate and helps the company make informed financial decisions.

The position reports to The Cost accounting & Reporting Manager.
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor and track production, inventory, and other operational expenses.
• Prepare and maintain cost reports to help management in decision-making.
• Analyzing variances between actual and budgeted costs.
• Assist in inventory valuation and reconciling discrepancies.
• Track and manage stock levels, ensuring they align with cost structures.
• Participate in periodic physical inventory counts.
• To allocate overheads and other indirect costs to appropriate cost centers.
• Ensure accurate allocation of direct and indirect costs to products or services.
• Support in preparing cost-related budgets and forecasts.
• Analyzing trends and variances to update financial forecasts.
• Enter data related to costs, inventory, and production into accounting systems.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of cost data.
• Analyze cost structures, identifying areas for cost optimization.
• Determining the profitability of products or services.
• Support efforts to improve cost efficiency and cost-saving initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to streamline costing processes and enhance accuracy.
• Ensure cost accounting practices comply with relevant standards, policies, and regulations.
• Maintain and organize cost-related documentation for audits and internal reviews.
• Work with departments like production, procurement, and finance to gather cost-related data and insights.
• Provide support for decision-making processes based on cost analysis.
• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, or annual cost reports.
• Provide insights and explanations regarding cost trends and variations.


Personal Attributes and qualifications
• five years of proven working experience in cost accounting preferably in a manufacturing and fast-moving consumer goods firm.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with creating financial statements.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
• Integrity and impeccable work ethics.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or a relevant field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent.
• Prowess in Excel Microsoft.
