The role
The Head of Orthopedics plays a critical role in overseeing the clinical, operational, and strategic aspects of the orthopedics department. This position requires a combination of medical expertise, leadership abilities, and management skills to ensure the provision of high-quality care, effective management of resources, and continuous improvement in patient outcomes. The HOD of Orthopedics must also be an advocate for innovation, helping the department stay at the forefront of medical advancements in the field.
Oversee the management of complex and high-risk orthopedic cases and offer clinical guidance on difficult diagnoses, treatments, and surgeries as well as supervise and guide orthopedic surgeons, residents, and medical staff to ensure the delivery of evidence-based, compassionate, and safe patient care.
The candidate
Is a recognized and licensed clinical specialist graduated from a well-recognized institution
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Must be clinically active i.e doing surgery for surgical specialty MBA/MPH is an added advantage.
- Has strong written and verbal communication skills (English and Kiswahili)
- Is proficient in basic computer use.
- Is energetic, pro-active and hands-on.
- Is persistent and result-driven.
- Has the ability to deal with problematic clients.
