As Logistics Manager at Knauf Gypsum Tanzania Limited will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the inbound and outbound logistics operations within the supply chain. Ensuring the timely and cost-effective movement of raw materials or other items and finished products to the plant and from the plant to the customer, contributing to the organization’s overall supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction.
What you’ll be doing:
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries of materials and other items as well as ensure on-time delivery to meet customer demand and service level agreements.
- Collaborate with procurement to manage supplier relationships and negotiate favorable terms.
- Document control for export shipments and customs clearance.
- Implement and manage inventory control practices for incoming materials (annual inventory count, scrap process, internal movements of the goods) as well as plan and manage the distribution of finished products to the customers.
- Oversee the management of distribution centers and warehouses as well as dispatching and loading of the trucks.
- Development of processes, concepts and strategies for the management of logistics service providers.
- Identify possible future capacity constraints and bottlenecks in the supply chain.
- Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities for transportation, warehousing and inventory cost reduction.
- Measure, analyze and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related logistics.
- Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
- Lead and mentor a team of logistics including setting clear performance objectives and provide regular feedback.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in supply chain management, managing transportation and distribution operations.
- Understanding of supply chain processes and relevant interfaces.
- Proficient in standard supply chain and logistics software such as Transport Management System (TMS).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
