ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a dynamic, committed and passionate individual to assist in the coordination of designing our Dream Project at the capacity of Assistant Programme Coordinator (Intern) through the Dar es Salaam Programme Office. We champion the engagement, position, and ultimately the influence of young people at every stage of development. Since 1993, we have been applying our experience to engage young people and young professionals at all levels of our organization to lead change. Our unique youth-led approach has been cited best practice and won awards from the Stars Foundation, World Bank, UNAIDS, and most recently the 2014
Resolve Award for Mabinti Tushike Hatamu.
ABOUT THE ROLE

Direct reports Dream Project Designing team
Expected travel When necessary.

KEY PRIORITIES
Main responsibilities
• Supports and coordinates the design of Dream project
• Coordinates consultations with identified/potential partners, volunteers, change makers and other stakeholders during the design stage
• Support the designing team to meet the desired results
• Manage designing team to deliver quality work on time
• Provide support to designing team to conduct field consultations when need be
• Supports the designing team based on specific capacity building needs.
• Conduct periodic technical visits/follow ups with designing team to mark progress, challenges and recommend actions
• Support the designing team in mentorship, coaching and documenting evidence of progress
• Support in cultivating local partnerships to strengthen linkages and for future program development
2. Programme Quality & Programme Direction
• Coordinates planning and development of activities with the designing team.
• Leads on communication to ensure the team is updated on key organizational developments.
• Identifies and coordinates opportunities with the programmes for involvement of selected alumni members in organizational activities.
• Ensures implementation of the agreed work plan to achieve agreed targets and results
• Coordinates capacity building training to the team when need be
• Identifies and coordinates opportunities for rurally based former volunteers to participate in designing process.
• Utilizes ICT and social media to be informed on the current young people’s needs and inform designing team.
• Coordinates the collection of case studies and evidence to inform the designing of the project
• Submit monthly reports of your work to the line manager in line with roles and responsibilities in the M&E system as a bottom line accountability.
• Participate in team meetings and key organizational events
• Review reports and relevant documents to inform the designing process
• Compiling and documenting every stage of the designing process
• Ensure meaningful youth engagement in the entire designing process of work
• Be familiar with Restless Development Program Quality Framework
3. People & Performance
• Carry out regular performance and welfare support for community peer educator volunteers in line Restless Development’s volunteer policy
• Lead in assessing and developing periodic capacity building plans for peer educators to enhance performance within your team
• Oversee development of monthly volunteer welfare reports
4. Financial Management
• Uphold all financial policies and procedures
• Ensure that all requisitions and retirements are appropriately requested for; and that all expenditure is backed up by the required support documentation
• Ensure that value for money is obtained in all purchases through the team, and that all purchases are in line with our policies and procedures
5. Other
• Other duties as required.
• You will regularly be required to work on weekends and/or public holidays, for which time off in lieu will be granted


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
• Age between 18-28
• Experience of training and capacity building
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in the development sector and/or a volunteer-based organization
• ICT and social media skills
• Experience in project designing skill
• Bachelor’s Degree in Project Planning and Management, social science and any other related Courses
Desirable
• Experience of managing and supporting volunteers or staff
• Experience of budgeting and handling finances
• Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment
• Experience (and understanding) of data management cycle and monitoring and evaluation processes and systems
