JOB DETAILS:
Kahama Urban water supply and Sanitation Authority (KUWASA) is full autonomous public entity established with the water Act (Cap 272) which has been replaced with the water supply and sanitation Act 2009 The authority was established to operate reliable and affordable sustainable water supply and sanitation services in kahama Town. As a result of expansion of existing distribution network, that has also made a substantial increase of customer base, KUWASA to recruit competent Tanzanians to fill the following vacant posts

JOB TITLE: CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER (1 POST)
APPOINTING AUTHORITY: MANAGING DIRECTOR
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: 3 YEARS CONTRACT
REPORT TO: BUSINESS MANAGER
SALARY SCALE: KWSS 8

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Holder of Diploma in Business Administration from recognized College, Knowledge of computer applications, with at least: 3years; working experience in water sector/Water Supply and Sanitation Authorities. Age Limit 20
- 35.

DUTIES AND RFSPONSIBILITIES.

• Processing of customer consumption based on meter reading received.
  
• Maintain customer records in Ledgers ensuring accurate records.
  
• Preparation of customer bills and ensure they are dispatched.
  
• Enter customer payments in the ledgers.
  
• attend to customer complaints and forward to appropriate sections for resolution.
  
• Any other duty as may be assigned.

JOB TITLE: ZONAL SUPERVISORS (2 POSTS)
APPOINTING AUTHORITY: MANAGING DIRECTOR
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: 3 YEARS CONTRACT
REPORT TO: BUSINESS MANAGER
SALARY SCALE: KWSS 8

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Holder of Ordinary Diploma in Civil/Water Resources Engineering with 3 years working experience in water sales operations and water meters management, Knowledge of computer applications, Valid motor cycle driving license, Age limit 2O-35.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The holder of this position is responsible for carrying out management, development and maintenance on the customer metering and billing efficiency Shall perform the following duties

• Making sure that all the records of reconnections and Disconnections are updated on the Data Base.
  
• Making sure that all records of customers` meters reconnection, meter disconnection, meter exchange and meter replacement data are readily available in both hand and soft copies an any given time.
  
• Keeping proper records and arrangement of all disconnected meters at the meter store/shop
  
• Carrying out monthly stock counts to ensure that all records of the disconnected customers on the database tally with the number physical meter at the meter store shelves.
  
• Making sure that all reconnections, disconnection, and meter exchange records are updated on the database on the same day.
  
• Monitoring and controlling the movement of meters to and from the meter store.
  
• Monitoring the provision of free water service to approved groups of people and preparing the monthly water bills for the provided service.
  
• preparing weekly water kiosk bills and ensuring that they are paid within the same week.
  
• Analyzing monthly water consumption trends for all water kiosks and report less-satisfactory to the billing and metering officer.
  
• To ensure meter reading is done properly and monitor delivery of bills to customers in their zones.
  
• To ensure payments of bills are made by every customer.
  
• To check and ensure all meters in zones are sealed.
  
• To monitor accuracy of meters to customers.
  
• To work in liaison with meter readers to solve complaints in zones.
  
• Prepare zonal monthly reports.

JOB TITLE: PUMP OPERATOR (1 POSTS)
APPOINTING AUTHORITY: MANAGING DIRECTOR
EMPLOYMENT TERMS: 3 YEARS CONTRACT
REPORT TO: Water Distribution Technician
SALARY SCALE: KWSS 01

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certificate of Electrical level I and Pump Mechanics from a recognized Technical institution,
  
• 5 years working experience in similar position, Trade Test 1/level Three to Plumbing / Pipe fittings is an added advantage. Age limit 20-35

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Starting and stopping of water pumps according to established schedules.
  
• Reporting abnormalities of water Pump function.
  
• Proper housekeeping of water pumps, pump house and surroundings,
  
• Mechanical monitoring of the inflow and outflow at the main reservoir
  
• Reporting of water polluters.
  
• Recording and reporting of electrical failure.
  
• Recording the amount of pumped water and establish time intervals from clean water storage tanks
  
• Daily data recording according to the amount of inflow and outflow of the water
  
• Making meter reading consumption at established time intervals.
  
• Recording of pressure gauge performance at established time intervals
