Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) is implementing its strategies to increase access and connectivity of its energy services and products for Tanzanians to support the government’s industrialization agenda. The company is currently expanding its business by investing heavily in generation, transmission and distribution network. In line with this, TANESCO now invites applicants who are self-motivated, honest, hardworking and committed individuals to fill the positions below under Specified Period Employment terms of Twelve Months Period (12).
Job Position: Artisan – Transmission Lines (10 Posts)
Report To: Regional Manager – Njombe
Working Station: Makambako
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Responsible for proper maintenance of transmission lines in the national grid..

SPECIFIC ATTRIBUTES FOR THE POSITIONS TO BE FILLED:
All Candidates must:

• Be capable of working with minimal supervision;
• Be capable of delivering excellent results while working under pressure with tight deadlines;

  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintains transmission lines network by carrying out routine inpesction in accordance with Company standards to ensure continuity of service, reliability power in the national grid.
• Report any unusual findings along transmission lines.
• Assist in planning daily maintenance schedules for the transmission lines.
• Assist to prepare periodic reports on transmission lines site works.
• Maintain way leaves and demarcations along transmission lines.
• Attend all emergency faults occurring in the transmission lines without delay including transmission lines patrol so as to insure constant power supply to grid.
• Assist in the rehabilitation of transmission lines including replacement of foundation and line parts.
• Enhance safety matters in the section at work place to ensure safety to employees, customers and equipment (properties).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Trade Test or its equivalent qualification in Electrical installation from recognized local Vocational Training Institution.
• Certificate of Secondary Education (Form IV or VI).
