About the National Audit Office

Established under Article 143 of the 1977 Constitution of Tanzania, the National Audit Office (NAO) is led by the Controller and Auditor General (CAG). The office ensures effective management of public funds by auditing revenue and expenditure streams and monitoring compliance with the Constitution, laws, and regulations. These audits include:
• Financial audits
• Compliance audits
• Performance audits
• IT systems audits
• Investigative audits

The NAO’s mandate is derived from the Public Audit Act, Chapter 418, which defines its operational framework.

Responsibilities: Conduct IT system audits, ensure IT security, and prepare risk-based IT audit plans.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Security, ICT Security, or related fields. Salary Scale: SAIS.E
