Your Position with TNC
The Applied Scientist I provides technical and scientific support for conservation initiatives that advance the Conservancy’s vision of nature and people thriving together. This position will be part of the Global Science business unit, which provides support to field, regional, and global teams across the world in support of evidence-based conservation strategies and outcomes. The work that this position will undertake will be part of the Bridge Collaborative—a global partnership helping create solutions that jointly benefit conservation, human health, and sustainable development. The Bridge Collaborative is a collaboration of four organizations: The Nature Conservancy, PATH, the International Food Policy Research Institute, and Duke University. This work will support the Bridge Collaborative’s program to build the evidence base on the effectiveness and scaling potential of integrated solutions, which in turn aims to support leaders and funders (across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors) to accelerate investment in and adoption of sustainable and equitable solutions that benefit people and nature. This is a short-term position for less than 90 days.
The Applied Scientist I will be a co-lead of a project conducting an “umbrella” systematic review to evaluate the strength of evidence on the effectiveness of multiple cross-sector practices areas (e.g. Payments for Ecosystem Services, Community-based Conservation, One Health, and others) in delivering benefits for the environment and human wellbeing.
