JOB DETAILS:
The role of the Banking Service Officer is to work with the Bank Operation Manager, to ensure smooth implementation and running of the Delivery Channels to serve bank customers, all entries posted in the department have been properly posted and authorized as per the Authorized arrangement timely and accurately as the laid down policy and procedures.
Responsibilities
• Post entries that have been authorized as per the laid down procedure
• Get confirmation on Extra Large Transactions from originating Heads of the department, where in doubt
• Escalation of any Suspicious Instructions, Transactions, or Payments as appropriate
• Process and create loan applications from branches to ensure effective turnaround, quality of loan documentation, and control over loan creation.
• Maintain quality control on the day-to-day operations in the department, and freely share views on the areas with control lapses.
• Maintain a record of loan documentation and liaise with branches on exceptions
• Close all exceptions raised by either Internal Auditors or External Auditors within set timelines.
• Approve and manage all DFA accounts and reject which do not liaise with KYC and AML
• Monitor Account accuracy and documentation
• Monitoring and settling all mobile transactions, with accurate posting and documentation.
• Supporting the Information Technology Department during Tests of new Processes in CBS.
• Manage and analyze adjustments based on a set of approvals.
• Ensure timely reporting
• Fake note collection
• Snap check monitoring
• Oversee all daily posted entries and daily cash reports all over
• Timely and accurate payment of Agents' commission
• Enhance Customers’ access to their Savings accounts through multiple delivery channels and branchless banking initiatives e.g. Mobile Banking, POS, and ATM
• Support branches on Money Transfer services by ensuring the availability of Money Transfer Tellers, Money Transfer Systems, and Money transfer marketing materials in all branches
• Agent liquidity Management to ensure agents have an optimal level of liquidity and no abuse of facilities available.
• Ensure availability of Float Liquidity to Super-Agent, Haloyako Disbursement, Bank to Wallet account, and Settlement of Wallet to Bank accounts.

Bank Officer -Posting
• Independent review of loan applications from branches to ensure adherence to stipulated policies and procedures.
• Maintain a record of loan documentation and liaise with branches on exceptions
• Process and create loan applications from branches in line with pre-defined approvals
• Ensure quality and timely fund transfers (Internal Transfers, TISS, CITI, NMB Online)
• Effective account opening ( DFA) and mobile registration
• Access and review the AML checker report
• Ensure daily monitoring and managing transactions on accounts.
• Ability to understand adjustment required for account modification.
• Effectively reporting
• Timely incidence reporting.
• Fake not collection and reporting
• Review branch and head office snap check reports, identifying abnormalities and liaise with branch managers or supervisors for rectification
• Timely mobile settlement
• Timely Agent commission payment.
• Account data Management
• Liaison with Branches and other departments for rectification of incorrect data received at the Banking Service Department
• Liaison with Department Heads or Branch Managers for Suspicious transactions or Payments
• Get confirmation on Extra Large Transactions from originating Heads of department or Branches where in doubt
• Understand the account creation requirements process to avoid non-KYC accounts.
• Ensure call-over of all Banking service transactions and branches' daily cash reports and Branch transactions.
• Ensure compliance with internal policy and procedures for all channels and escalates risks and issues to Bank Operation Manager.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Business studies
• Professional qualifications will be an added advantage
