Plan International Tanzania, Nkasi PU has started its operation in March 2016 and currently sponsorship projects implementing in five wards, as result of the process of Plan Tanzania phase out from existing areas and phase in new areas is driven by the ambition of being in the areas where the rights violations facing children are greatest, poverty is acute & donor interest is significant.
Role Purpose
This role will provide technical and operational support towards the implementation of the program activities in Sponsorship activities in Nkasi PU. The position holder will provide transportation services to Plan staff in a safe, courteous and timely manner to enable the PU effectively carry out its operational activities.
Dimensions of the Role
The position involves resolving a wide range of challenges which may occur in managing different people with different backgrounds and culture. The position holder will be required to demonstrate attributes such as honesty and trustworthy, respectful, possess cultural awareness and sensitivity, be flexible and demonstrates sound work ethics. The Position holder will report directly to the Procurement and Logistics Officer.

Accountabilities
• Provides passenger transport in an official car for office, project or programme staff, official visitors and guests.
• Runs errands for the project, programme or office, e.g. sending letters and messages, paying bills and buying smaller quantities of office supplies as appropriate.
• Completes the vehicle log book correctly and conscientiously in accordance with Plan International standards and policies.
• Cleans the interior and exterior of the vehicle(s) regularly, at least once a week.
• Timely checks oil, water, brakes and brake liquid, tyre pressure, battery levels, headlights, brakes, bodywork for dents etc; and reports any default for the vehicle maintenance.
• Is responsible for the project vehicle documents and their good condition at all times.
• Reports need for normal and major services of the vehicle.
• Responsible for refueling the vehicle using the approved fuel voucher and keeps the records.
• Immediate reports all involvement of the project or office vehicle in accidents, including minor accidents, damage, loss or theft of vehicle fittings.
• Assists other colleagues as needed in the project, programme or office if there is no travel pending, carries out other office work on request
• Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Child Protection (CPP) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.

Key relationships
The position holder will work closely with the Procurement and Logistic Department at the Program Unit Office in Nkasi and provides supportive movements to all staffs in the organization as appropriate.

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge
Essential:
• Possess an O-level Certificate or higher.
• Holds a Valid class “C” driver’s licence with vehicle defensive/administrative skills.
• Clean driving records in the last past 4 years.
• A minimum of 5 years’ work experience as a driver

Desirable:
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in both English and Kiswahili.
• Disciplined, Punctual, Reliable, Resilience and Patience.
• Familiarity with rough-roads and remote areas.
• Strong ability to ensure control safety and security of vehicles.
• Strong negotiation, facilitating and influencing skills
• High degree of confidentiality and integrity
