JOB DETAILS:
Kilombero Sugar Company Limited (KSCL), the largest producer of sugar in the country operating cohesively with Illovo Distillers Tanzania Limited (IDTL) and a member of Illovo Sugar Africa Limited (Africa’s largest sugar producer). The Company now invites applicants who are self-motivated, honest, hardworking and committed individuals to fill above mentioned position at Kilombero.

Job Purpose
Drive embedding of the “Illovo Way of Optimization” by implementing world class practices to optimize production and maintenance. Develop the relevant Optimization strategy with a view towards long term growth, optimal efficiency and sustainability. Audit and analyses production systems & processes with the aim of uncovering inefficiencies. Provide specialized technical support to the Plant such that it can achieve its operational needs. Adhere to Illovo group technical, risk and best maintenance practices standards, and management of technical governance requirements.

Specific duties and responsibilities.
• Develop in-Country medium and long term Manufacturing (Production and Maintenance) Optimization Strategy with objective of effectively optimizing performance and cost of production.
• Drive optimization by driving initiatives that will deliver products at cost and quality levels that drive profitability.
• Drive operational excellence by implementing optimization initiatives and supporting problem resolution.
• Identify, generate business case, motivate, plan and manage implementation of capital projects, ensuring required economic and community outcomes are delivered on time.
• Reduce system inefficiencies by analyzing and maximizing system performance (Reliability, Recovery, efficiencies, costs etc.) through application of continuous improvement tools and best practices such as Route Cause Analysis.
• Drive synergies across the Group, effectively partnering with Group counterparts to identify, share and embed opportunities for production & reliability optimization,
• Provide expertise on production & reliability issues, support and advise on solutions.
• Build a strong technical team and talent pipeline for Manufacturing Optimization through ongoing coaching, mentoring, guidance and technical training, using this platform to drive technical excellence in the production and maintenance teams.
• Promote and adhere to Illovo’s procedures, policies, and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to Safety Healthy, Environment, Risk and Quality, (SHERQ), Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).

Job requirements:
• Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree.
• Business / Financial qualification would be an advantage.
• 8-10 years in Sugar Manufacturing (production and/or maintenance).
• Continuous improvement knowledge and experience.
• Good business acumen and manufacturing expertise, with ability to anticipate, interpret and respond to changes impacting on functional area.
• Strong track record in management and leadership.
• Strong data analysis skills.

Terms of service: The successful candidate will be engaged on Permanent Contract.
