WWF is seeking to hire a competent and motivated Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to be based in Masasi, Tanzania

Background

Major Functions:
• Facilitate the establishment of baselines for all new project interventions in the Ruvuma landscape
• Develop data collection tools including checklists, forms and questionnaires for data collection
• Conduct regular visits to project field sites for data quality assurance documentation of lessons
• Lead the process of development and revision of overall landscape programme and individual project annual workplans in coordination with project technical staff
• Support programme teams in proper excursion of project workplans
• Monitor and document progress of implementation of project workplans
• Undertake periodic reviews of implementation and operation of the monitoring system to provide on-site solutions to the existing challenges and situation in accordance with the monitoring plans for the overall landscape programme and individual projects
• Facilitate M&E capacity building trainings and meetings within the project area as per project workplans including leading data analysis and management and involving project partners where relevant
• Coordinate the monitoring of implementation of the project workplan, and ensure that project/programme monitoring plans and reports are submitted to the Country Office M&E Manager and relevant parties in a timely manner for review and approval
• Work closely with the programme Communication Officer to accurately document field success stories and lessons and share them with the programme teams for wider circulation
• In collaboration with the Landscape Coordinator and Transboundary Landscape Coordinator, organize annual and periodic programme reflection and learning meetings
• Archive all M&E work both electronically in a centralized location for team members and in hard copies
• Contribute to the preparation of draft technical report (TPRs) and comment on all field reports before submission to Project Executants and Leads and subsequently to the M&E Manager.

Required Qualification
A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Sciences, Economics, Environmental Science, Natural Resources Management, Programme and Project Management or Monitoring and Evaluation. A Master’s degree in any of the above fields is an added advantage. At least two years of experience in data collection and assisting Monitoring and Evaluation of programmes. Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Ability to organize, conduct and document training in relevant disciplines. Strong analytical skills including analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data and strong experience in use of information management systems. Excellent organizational and time management skills required to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong knowledge in Computer programs, M&E tools and databases. Willing to travel extensively within the landscape and outside the region as required
