JOB DETAILS:

Position Overview:
The Monitoring and Evaluation officer shall lead and maintain Develop monitoring and evaluation system, plan, and strategies for the Global Fund project. He/she will be responsible for data collection, documentation, tracking and disseminate best practices from implementation of Global Fund-AGYW activities. Also, he/she will see through that, performance framework, work plan and tools for each activity indicator is done as per Global Fund requirements. He/she will create data collection tools and processes and provide routine collection of reports to project manager and the deputy CEO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate measurement of achievement towards Global Fund (GF)project’s objectives.
  • Identify any divergence from expected results at early stages so that, stakeholders can use data in a timely manner to guide programmatic decisions.
  • Monitor accessibility of project interventions and benefits to all sectors of the targeted population.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of comprehensive, efficient and effective monitoring and evaluation (M&E) training and capacity building for AGYW – Global Fund project staff.
  • Ensure timely collection and submission of data, verification and validation of the data, before it is stored, analyzed and shared to relevant management levels, as to enable them make decisions or take relevant actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degreein Economics, Social Sciences, Education, Social Work or related fields of study. Note: those with Master’s degree will be added advantage.
  • Three years of working experience, preferably in a NGO environment will be added advantage.
  • Experience and ability to create monitoring, evaluation and learning tools.
  • Experience and ability to develop evaluation methodology.
  • Experience and ability to analyses data using open data kit and other quantitative software e.g. STATA, SPSS, Power view etc.
  • Experience and ability to conduct data quality assessment.
  • Knowledge/experience/ ability of quantitative sampling techniques, and design.
  • Ability to map coordinates using mapping software.
  • Ability to interact with community people and local government staff at lower level.
  • Excellent IT skills especially Microsoft office package.

Competence:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Kiswahili both orally and in written.
  • Good and strong interpersonal skills both soft and hard.
  • Ability to perform multi-task and meet demanding deadlines for assigned tasks, sometimes work under pressure and deliver.
  • Flexible and Adoptable to any environment.
  • Able to have Attention to details.
