Job Description
• The role holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of the medical sales strategy and grow the medical unit towards the achievement of company’s profitable growth. The role will report to the Country Sales Manager.
Key responsibilities
1. Prepare and review sales medical plans.
2. Create relationship with intermediaries who are strong in medical portfolio to grow Britam’s Insurance Tanzania Ltd medical book.
3. Prepare and review monthly visitations plans to existing medical clients.
4. Daily coordination and monitoring of the medical sales activities.
5. Develop and grow medical portfolio.
6. Develop medical sales strategies to tap into the medical market and increase Britam’s Insurance Tanzania Ltd medical market share.
7. Achieve medical sales revenue targets as agreed with Country Sales Manager.
8. Liaise with underwriting department to ensure all businesses due for renewal are renewed.
9. Liaise with underwriting department to ensure the company offers competitive quotes for new business
10. Liaise with claims department to ensure the company offers the best claims service.
11. Follow up after sales service to maintain high level of customer satisfaction
12. Prepare weekly and monthly medical sales reports.
13. Ensure sales promotions are done as per the company’s strategies.
14. Ensure 100% collection of premium.
15. Report on the Market Intelligence.
16. Motivate and ensure team work within the sales team to support the medical sales.
17. Deliver on performance requirements as defined in the departments’ strategy map, balanced scorecard and Personal Scorecard.

1. Bachelor degree (marketing and insurance options preferred)
2. Professional qualification in Insurance (Dip CII or equivalent qualification)
3. 7 years’ experience in sales 3 of which must be in a supervisory level (insurance sector preferred)
4. A demonstrated track record in managing relationships with DSR to ensure sustained business support.

Job purpose
• The job holder will be responsible for growth of revenues and customer numbers for the branch to meet set annual premium targets for the branch. The role will report to the Branch Manager.
Key responsibilities
1. Secure new business directly or through intermediaries
2. Service existing business and follow up to ensure renewal
3. Maintain excellent customer service to intermediaries and direct clients
4. Undertake initial underwriting in accordance with set guidelines to ensure sound acceptance of risk.
5. Ensure payment of premiums before policy attaches.
6. Follow up to ensure intermediaries are paid commissions timely and accurately.
7. Recruit new agents, direct clients, new brokers and grow business from Bancassurance partners as per agreed KPI.
8. Train, coach and support new intermediaries to achieve sales targets.
9. Follow and adhere to underwriting guidelines and standards as communicated by Underwriting Manager from time to time
10. Prepare daily sales reports to branch manager and other reports as may be requested by management
11. Guide and assist clients on claims processing
12. Deliver on performance requirements as defined in the strategy map and personal scorecard
