JOB DETAILS:
Main duties and responsibilities:
• The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Survey Coordinator and will be responsible for data collection. This will include data abstraction from paper and electronic tools at selected facilities; obtaining informed consent from individuals interested in participating in the assessment and enrolling them; and conducting qualitative and quantitative interviews.

Specific responsibilities include:
• Attend the assessment training
• Have a thorough understanding of the assessment protocol and operations manual
• Intercept potential assessment participants according to assessment SOPs
• Obtain informed consent of individuals to be interviewed
• Interview individuals to obtain relevant information using both qualitative and quantitative interview methods
• Collect data using tablets and excel templates
• Maintain privacy and total confidentiality regarding all information related to the assessment
• Assist in collecting feedback/ suggestions of participants, if necessary
• Other duties as assigned by the assessment coordinator

Experience, skills, and minimum required qualifications:
• Minimum age 25 years
• Holder of bachelor’s degree in social science, health related subject or equivalent
• At least two years of experience in data collection, including qualitative and quantitative interviewing, is required
• Ability to use a computer and Microsoft Office and Excel
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience working or interacting with stigmatized populations and discussing sensitive issues such as sexuality and HIV / AIDS is advantageous
• Great organizational capacity
• Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Fluency in English and Swahili
• Available and ready to work in Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Mbeya, and Mwanza for the duration of the survey (November 2022 through January 2023)

JOB DETAILS:
Job Description
• Come join our Monitoring & Evaluation team as a design specialist for child- and youth-related programming. You will be responsible for designing global M&E frameworks, M&E tools, survey instruments, training materials, conducting analysis, drafting reports, advising on data visualizations and supporting the M&E technical advising team on implementation of these frameworks in national offices. In addition, you will provide technical and M&E expertise across a variety of sectors, especially in health and wellbeing.

• Design logical frameworks and outcome measurements for child and youth programs, including health and wellbeing.
• Support overall holistic child development and provide ongoing subject matter expertise in using high quality data to measure program inputs, outputs, outcomes.
• Aid program design specialists, partnership facilitators, program support team and church partners by providing coaching and knowledge within monitoring and evaluation.
• Lead the development and adoption of partner compliance and adherence to standards, procedures, and policies related to program quality.
• Collaborate with program leaders to provide direction and subject matter expertise regarding intervention milestones and indicators.
• Conduct analyses to establish validity and reliability evidence for measurement tools.
• Monitor partnership dashboards to track critical program dimensions and performance and enable the National Offices and frontline church partners to see meaningful improvements or decline in performance.
• Manage and may lead complex budgeting and planning efforts for baseline surveys and other monitoring and evaluation activities across multiple countries/regions.
• Simplify complex information to report to a variety of stakeholders.

What do you bring?
• Master’s Degree in international development, public health, statistics, economics, social science, or a related field is required.
• At least 5 years’ experience working in an international development setting with an emphasis in Monitoring & Evaluation design.
• Experience in conducting and leading quantitative or qualitative analyses is required.
• Experience with online survey tools (e.g., ODK, Survey CTO, CommCare) is required.
• Experience with statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, SPSS) is required.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in English.
• Fluency in a second language is a plus.
Equivalent education, training and/or certification may be substituted for experience and education shown above.
