Duties/Requirements:
• Develop Shelter and Settlements country strategy and develop technical guidance that are aligned with regional and global strategies and priorities
• Follow up on compliance with contractual commitments, ensure high technical quality and synergies in project implementation
• Identify trends technical standards and provide technical direction and project implementation support
• Provide systematic training and build capacity of staff in S&S approaches including cash-based interventions and market-based programme
• Contribute to fundraising, developing and revising funding proposals, budgets and donor reports
• Represent NRC in relevant forums/clusters, including with national authorities and donors
• Promote the rights of refugees, IDPs and returnees in line with the advocacy strategy
• In addition, as PDM, you will also be responsible for:
• Overall management of project staff
• Coordinating and managing S&S project implementation (activities, budget and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies and donor requirements

Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience within technical expertise area in a humanitarian/ recovery context
• Minimum 2 years of Shelter and Settlements expertise (as Specialist, Technical Adviser or Project Manager)
• Bachelor’s degree or similar in relevant field
• A clear interest and understanding of humanitarian issues from emergency to protracted crisis
• A clear interest and understanding of Protection Mainstreaming (Safe & Inclusive Programming)
• Experience from working in complex and volatile environments
• Skills in market analysis, cash-based interventions and market-based programmes
• Excellent analytical skills and communication skills in writing and speaking
• Fluency in English both written and verbal; in addition, proficiency in French is required based on the contextual needs (Central and West Africa)

NCA is seeking a committed, innovative, and result-oriented program assistant to work on the project, Leveraging Faith for Youth and Women Economic Empowerment in Pemba, for one year.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for implementation and follow up the day-to-day project activities.
• Responsible for follow up and support of the projects established by youth and women groups to ensure continuous learning and effective project management
• Able to resourcefully improve planning and implementation of the project in the community.
• Prepare and compile activity reports for submission to supervisor.
• Organize trainings to build the capacity of the local community as per project plan.
• Contribute to cross-programme integration, learning and sharing between economic empowerment and peace building program components.
• Engagement with local leaders and relevant government departments and authorities
• Manage and maintain good working relations with other stakeholders in the community

Minimum Job Qualification, Experience and Other Requirements
• Undergraduate degree in Community development, Social welfare, education and Social Sciences from a recognized learning institution.
• At least three years relevant experience with community development project.

JOB DETAILS:
The Aga Khan Health Service, Tanzania (AKHST); an institution of The Aga Khan Development Network, completed a major phase II expansion of the Aga Khan Hospital, Dar es Salaam in 2018.
This expansion aimed at improving the Hospital’s quality of facilities and infrastructure to become an ultramodern 170 bed facility to increase its capacity as a provider of high-quality medical care leading to a tertiary care, referral and teaching hospital.
The Phase II development focused on expanding key clinical services including a comprehensive Cardiology programme, Oncology services and Neurosciences, as well as the expansion of Orthopedics and Trauma, Diagnostic Imaging, Critical Care and Women and Child Health programmes.
The Hospital is JCI Accredited (achieved a level of quality and patient service that is equal to the best hospitals in the world) and the teaching site for The Aga Khan University, which offers Postgraduate Medical Education programs leading to Master of Medicine in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology and Pediatrics and Child Health.
It is also an accredited internship site. As part of the integrated health systems approach, AKHST plans to establish 35 outreach health facilities that are located across Tanzania. Currently, 20 such clinics have been established across the country and linked the main hospital in Dar es Salaam
The Aga Khan Health Service, Tanzania (AKHS, T) is part of the commitment to achieving Net Zero operations by, if not before, 2030. The AKHS, T is inviting applications for a Climate & Environment Lead to champion this work.
REPORTING TO THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO)

POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) overall and working through and with his/her Designees, this position will be supported with technical guidance from the Head Office to implement the Aga Khan Health Service, Tanzania’s Net-Zero Action Plan. This position will coordinate progress across operations and Departments and work with stakeholders to improve climate change mitigation actions and environmental stewardship. The selected candidate will serve as Country Focal Person to liaise and maintain appropriate relationships with governance, AKDN, Government entities and other institutions working in health sector.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• The Climate & Environmental Lead will lead AKHST’s ambitions for reaching Net Zero by 2030. Specifically, the position will:
• Keep the CEO and operational leads informed on important developments and ensure all plans/actions have leadership approval.
• Coordination with key departments to implement climate actions, review on-going emissions tracking, and inovate solutions in healthcare.
• Develop policies around staff practice, including energy use, selection and purchasing of products and waste generation and
• Build staff capacity and support leadership development to enable all roles to contribute towards achieving net zero
• Ensure implementation of the identified action plans with leads in procurement, support and facility management, and other operational leads to implement actions.
• Develop efficient data streams in alignment with the quarterly AKHS Global requirements and international best practice; analyze data to identify actionable opportunities for improvements in reporting quality and emissions
• Develop proposals and grant applications to support Where required provide key inputs into proposals developed by others to mainstream net-zero actions within operations.
• Work as the focal person to liaise and maintain appropriate relationships within AKDN and government agencies and other institutions working in the health sector in

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum MBA/MSc/ MPH or equivalent preferably in a relevant environmental discipline
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a role with direct responsibilities for environmental management
• Strong experience in management and team building
• Experience of working with wider stakeholders, preferably including government counterparts
• Familiarity with action research, preferably including developing solutions to environmental challenges
• Experience in supporting and providing staff training
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft packages, especially Excel, Power point and Word
• Proven analytical skill and experience in data management to inform advocacy and to drive change
• Highly motivated self-starter and excellent problem solver
