RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
• Leads the Africa regional community-led economies strategy design and implementation in collaboration with the Africa Team, the Global IPLC Team, other TNC regional and global teams, and external partners and consultants.
• Responsible for feasibility and enabling conditions assessment, supply chain analysis, development of business models and financial projections, connection to markets, and access to financing opportunities.
• Identifies and manages key local and regional partnerships to execute the community-led economies strategy and improve the business viability of community-led, sustainable enterprises.
• Directs community leadership and decision-making throughout all steps of strategy creation and business design.
• Provides creative, critical thinking and problem solving to support new and existing sustainable enterprise opportunities.
• Develops recommendations to the Africa Team about how to advance community-led enterprises and other sustainable livelihood opportunities in the short, medium, and long term.
• Builds the business acumen of TNC colleagues to better position teams to partner effectively with sustainable, community-led enterprises.
• Collaborates with the Global IPLC Team to inform the organization’s global approach to sustainable livelihoods.
• Provides detailed primary and secondary research to support enterprise development.
• Works cross-functionally with TNC teams and external partners to engage conservation, business, financial, and legal expertise in the development and implementation of community-led, sustainable enterprises.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business, entrepreneurship, sustainable development, or related field and at least 5 years related experience, or equivalent combination.
• Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) will be an added advantage.
• Fluency in English and written and oral communication skills experience.
• Critical thinking, research, and analysis skills experience to assess complex information to make strategic decisions.
• Experience building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including community or business leaders, government or legislative staff, program leadership and/or similar audiences.
• Experience developing and implementing complex projects in an unstructured environment with limited guidance.
• Project management skills.
• Experience assessing, designing, and launching new businesses.
• Experience in impact investment, blended finance, microfinance, or a related field, and a knowledge of key players in these fields.
• Experience in gender equity and women-led enterprises.
• Experience developing and sensitizing financial models.
• Familiarity with sustainable livelihoods and relevant stakeholders in Africa, including stakeholders, policies and market opportunities related to grasslands, coastal, and freshwater enterprises (e.g., fisheries enterprises, livestock enterprises, women-led enterprises, ecotourism, etc.).
• Ability to develop and drive new ideas and approaches.
• Ability to sensitively advise other staff on how to effectively engage with internal and external partners.

JOB DETAILS:

ROLE
• Handle correspondence, collate information, write reports and communicate decisions to relevant company stakeholders.
• Perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks
• Provide support to managers and employees, assist in daily office needs and manage SICPA’s general administrative activities

Leadership
• Participate with the Management team in developing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organisation
• Identify, assess and inform Management team of internal and external corporate governance issues that affect the organisation

Operations Planning
• Develop and implement operational plans for the General Manager and ensure that SICPA Management goals and objectives work towards the strategic direction of the organisation
• Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the General Manager
• Work closely with the General Manager coordinating Annual Report/Budget Reports
• Ensure the smooth running of the Management meetings and meeting with Government officials, including the following: co-ordination of meetings, assisting the GM with the preparation of agendas, papers and reports, presentations, attending meetings and ensuring minutes are written, ensuring follow-up on outstanding matters
• Complete special projects assigned by the GM (produce high quality reports, presentations)
• May lead projects or identify process improvements to enhance inefficiencies
• Maintains GM’s appointment schedule by planning and scheduling meetings, conferences, teleconferences, and travel.
• Welcomes guests and customers by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, and answering or directing inquiries.

PROFILE
• Although this area of work is open to all graduates, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in accountancy and finance, business and management, and the law would be preferred

Roles and Key Responsibilities:
• In collaboration with the Country Manager (CM) provide strategic direction for the design of the CO strategic frameworks and plans, including the development of resource mobilization strategies to optimize the impact of programming interventions in line with regional and agency strategic priorities.
• Lead high-quality project design incorporating project management standards and MEAL methods, appropriate to scope, context and technical requirements of projects. Coordinate planning of activities across various projects from different sectors to ensure integration of program interventions and efficiency in implementation.
• Effectively manage talent and supervise. Manage team dynamics and staff well-being. Provide coaching, strategically tailor individual development plans, and complete performance assessment for direct reports. Contribute to developing staffing plans for projects and to the recruitment process of senior project staff.
• Create and maintain proper conditions for learning. Establish a safe environment for sharing of ideas, solutions, and difficulties and the capacity to detect, analyze and respond quickly to deficiencies. Promote accountability, learning and knowledge management overseeing implementation of the MEAL policy, as well as cross-sectoral and cross-department learning.
• Coordinate with CO operations leads to ensure appropriate project budgeting and efficient use and stewardship of project material sources.
• In coordination with CM, support the business development cycle to ensure quality proposals per agency and donor standards.
• Oversee the identification, assessment and strengthening of appropriate partnerships, including an inclusive and comprehensive network of government and private sector partners.
• Ensure technical assistance and capacity strengthening for project teams and partners in project management standards and related MEAL, business development and operational activities. Identify training opportunities, develop training curriculums and deliver trainings.

Basic Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in relevant field, including but not limited to Business Administration, Private Sector Engagement, Public Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science/Climate Science, WASH, ECD, etc.
• Minimum of five years of relevant field-based program management, at least three years of middle/senior management experience.
• Experience in contributing to successful proposals, reports, strategic alliances, project design, project management, and monitoring and evaluation.
• Experience in partner capacity strengthening, staff development, training, and mentoring, as well as in team building and strategic planning initiatives. Experience working with Church partners a plus
• Experience in community development, community mobilization, or similar grassroots, self-help initiatives.
• Experience in project grants management, including project design, budget preparation, expenditure tracking, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, etc., preferably for projects funded by multiple public donors, including USAID.
• Experience with successful business development activities capturing public and/or private donor funding.
• Required Languages – English, Kiswahili
• Travel – Must be willing and able to travel up to 30 %.

JOB DETAILS:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide technical support to Alliance staff, partners and other relevant stakeholders to ensure robust MEEL implementation in line with project MEEL frameworks and systems.
• Work with the MEEL team and project staff to design a MEEL plan, and ensure accurate and reliable data collection through appropriate tools and database management as per project plan and indicators.
• Conduct routine monitoring of the project progress to ensure relevant data are reliably/accurately collected and appropriately documented.
• As appropriate, review and verify the data quality from partners and stakeholders in accordance with designed tools for respective indicators.
• Maintains project confidence and protects operations by keeping any private information collected and entered into the database confidential.
• Work with project staff to design and implement program monitoring and evaluation tasks, including baseline survey, Internal outcome monitoring, mid-term reviews, final evaluation, and specific studies for the project.
• Report through CARE, WWF Reporting systems, ensuring compliance with donor reporting requirements.
• File and store completed data collection forms, reports and any other supporting document in designated locations both hardcopies and electronic copies in CARE WWF project database.
• Support the Alliance Manager on quarterly and annual report by ensuring results required are reliable, available and confirmed in time for reporting.
• Facilitate Mid-Year review, annual reflections and community reflection meetings with technical team and other stakeholders to share project progress, challenges, capture lessons learned and identify areas for improvement and adaptive management.
• Support the development of Alliance project annual plans, including mainstreaming MEEL activities into project staff implementation.
• Carry out on annual basis internal Data Quality Assessment as per standards to identify the major strength and weakness of Alliance MEEL system for improvement.
• Work with the project team to ensure CARE and WWF feedback and grievance mechanisms are in place and communicated in an integrated way to beneficiaries to support CARE-WWF Alliance accountability to communities.
• Assist in documentation of lesson learned and writing of learning briefs, success stories and other communication materials.
• Promote Gender Equality and diversity in MEEL interventions.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOW-HOW):
• A minimum of Bachelor’s from a recognized university in Project Planning and Management, Agri-business Economics, Statistics, Environmental/social/Natural Sciences, Development Studies, Natural resources management or similar field, good experience in data collection, analysis and reporting are fundamental. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in data collection and data entry and management, data quality assurance review and verification, data analysis, and reporting with previous working experience in project monitoring and evaluation, ideally for non-governmental organizations engaged in conservation and/or development activities
• Strong knowledge of computer programs, with familiarity in using Microsoft Office suite applications (particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), use of mobile data collection software like ODK.
• Experience in designing and carrying out qualitative and quantitative research (instrument and sampling design, carrying out household surveys, conducting interviews, focus group discussion).
• Ability to write reports, effectively present information, and prepare presentations.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including native Kiswahili and strong English language skills.
• Ability to organize and conduct training in relevant disciplines.
• Strong analytical skills, including analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data in programs with experience in application of statistical packages.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills required to meet deadlines.
