THE Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI)
The Ocean Road Cancer Institute (ORCI) was established by the Act of Parliament
No.2 of 1996.The Institute is a semi-autonomous organization which operates at “arm‟s length” under the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. The Institute has various roles which all stem on the main role of controlling Cancer in Tanzania.

REPORT TO: ADMINISTRATION MANAGER
 DUTY STATION: ORCI – DAR ES SALAAM.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Drive ORCI vehicles to approved destinations and in accordance with traffic regulations;
  
• Maintain motor vehicle log books according to laid down regulations;
  
• Provide transport services to both approved staff and patients;
  
• Check fuel, oil, water, tires, tool kit and the general state of the car before use;
  
• Inspect vehicles for defects before and after trips and submitting report indicating vehicle condition to the reporting authority;
  
• Reporting promptly and accidents or incidents involving vehicle to the supervisor/ the traffic police;
  
• Checking to ensure that vehicle and goods are properly locked and secured at all times;
  
• Perform messenger duties such as dispatching and collecting documents/correspondences;
  
• Check preventive maintenance due dates and ensure that the vehicle is serviced as planned;
  
• Checks validity of insurance, Motor Vehicle License and reports the same to the authority for necessary action;
  
• Carry out small repairs if the vehicle breaks down;
  
• Maintain Vehicle’s cleanliness and neatness; and
  
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor/Superiors.
  

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Possession of National Form IV Secondary Examination Certificate and
Class C driving licence with not less than three (3) years‟ experience.
