Community Environmental Management and Development Organization (CEMDO –Tanzania) under support of SAVE THE CHILDREN, funded by USAID is pleased to invite qualified Tanzanians to fill the following vacancies in Lishe Endelevu project, that aims at improving nutrition outcomes for women of reproductive age, children under five, and adolescent girls, meaningfully advancing Tanzania along its journey to self-reliance in Morogoro region-Malinyi, Ulanga ,Kilosa, Gairo, Kilombero and Ifakara Councils)
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Project Name: Lishe Endelevu.
Project Period: 3 years and six months

Project Extension Officers – Agriculture /Livestock officer (Advert no 007/2019-4 posts)
An agricultural/livestock extension officer directly works with farmers and other stakeholders related to agriculture/livestock. Their primary role is to aid these farmers or groups to make better decisions to increase agricultural production and providing Training to farmers, farmer groups, and model farmers on Nutrition-Sensitive Agriculture/Livestock Practices. The extension officer is constantly armed with the latest techniques and information related to agriculture and they relay this information to farmers and agricultural business..
Duties
• Mobilize community to establish of kitchen gardens and livestock keeping (small animals) and scaling of successful approaches
• Provide agriculture extension service support to model farmers or focal farming households
• Advise farmers to adopt best farming practices
• To demonstrate on farms the proper use and application of inputs.
• To monitor and assist in collecting data from both demonstration farms and farmer’s farms in the area of operations.
• Coordinate and liaise with other stakeholders in the project implementation
• To develop the capacity of farmers to adopt and implement better practices through exposure to new knowledge, information, skills, inputs and processes to improve the long term performance of their farm businesses;
• To encourage farmers to adopt better practices through exposure to new knowledge, information, skills, inputs and processes to improve the long term performance of their farm businesses;
• To work with the Agriculture officer to generate public awareness on important agricultural issues (especially the advantages of local production, quality, climate change and safety), as well as to communicate all aspects of the Lishe Endelevu Project to a wide range of stakeholders

Requirements:
• Holds a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in either Agriculture or Food Technology or Agriculture & Home Economics or Agricultural Education & Horticulture or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
• Have at least two (2) years' experience in the relevant field;
• Experience/skills in projects’ management ,Administrative and reporting;
• Excellent communication capabilities;
• Computer literacy;
• Proficient in English and Kiswahili language.
• Strong commitment of work.
• Flexibility, availability to perform other duties;
• Team Player;
