Mbeya Water supply and sanitation Authority (Mbeya WSSA) is autonomous water supply organization mandated to forward water and sewerage disposal services within the urban area of Mbeya city. it was established in January 1998 under section 3(i) of Act No.8 OF i997, repealed by Act No.i2 of 2009.To adequately fulfill its objectives and in line with the expansion of activities Mbeya WSSA is now inviting applications from suitably quailed and self-motivated Tanzanians of high personal integrity to apply for the Following positions.

ZONAL TECHNICIAN II - (5 POSTS)

Supervises Technicians, Plumbers
Salary Scale UWSA 3

QUALIFICATIONS
Holders of an Ordinary Diploma or Full Technician Certificate in Water Resources Engineering, Water Laboratory Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Sewerage, Sanitary/Environmental Engineering from any recognized Technical Institution with experience of at least of i year in water Supply and sewerage industry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Major

Key Supervisor of all water supply functions in the supply zones and official point of contact for ail Technical issues concerning" your zone.

2. Specific

• To cooperate with O&M Engineer/O&M Technician in preparing plan of action for preventive O&M works in the zone on daily basis.
• To supervise water distribution & rationing in your zone as per rationing time table. Ensure all customers in your zone are served with adequate and safe water supply; otherwise you should report immediately to O&M section in case of deficiencies.
• Understand the quantity of water consumed against demand in your Zone
• To monitor distribution network and customer condition, water losses through leakage and attend pipe leak repair efficiently and timely. In case of major leaks, report to head of O & M Section/Technical Manager for more work strength.
• Your regular visit and familiarization with distribution network will help you to identify bottlenecks and causes of water losses within your zones and report any potential technical works for rehabilitation, improvement or extension in your zone.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

• Applicant MUST be a Tanzanian
• Applicant Age should not be above 45 years
• Applicants who studied outside Tanzania should have a Certification from NECTA and TCU
• In Service Applicants should seek approval from their current employers
• Applications that dully fulfills these requirements will be considered invalid
