Description
• Support the Program Manager of Kilimo Endelevu program to oversee the technical aspects of the program;
• Provide agronomic support (agricultural production techniques) to Kilimo Endelevu partners, extension officers and other development actors through collaborative relationships;
• Build capacity of Field staff, and other District Extension Officers on Agro - Ecology and Sustainable Farming;
• Facilitate studies and field researches undertaken by different actors;
• Monitor and track data with the use of Monitoring & Evaluation system, generate reports and present findings to management, or other interested parties.
1.Main activities
1.1.Support to Program Manager
• Sharing information on the technical aspects of the program;
• Identification of weaknesses and gaps in the implementation of the technical aspects of the program and proposal of corrective measures (organization of trainings, call for external human resources, study tour organizations, ...);
• Conduct a monitoring of external techniques and experiences in line with the needs and / or opportunities of the program;
• Interact with universities and research institutes;
• Support for the preparation of activity reports;
1.2.Support to partners
• Support the analysis of the productive system of the beneficiaries of the program;
• Support the introduction of innovations on production routes and their transition towards an integrated agro-ecological farm model (identification of key techniques to be tested in actions research, seeking external information on alternative solutions and accompanying their process of adaptation and operationalization, identification of sites for the organization of study tours for producers …)
• Through frequent field visits, share observations, suggestions and recommendations with partners and farmers in order to contribute to the achievement of the program outcomes;
• Support the training of the field facilitators to master the productive techniques selected;
Support to Country Director
• Support in the process of identifying and formulation of new programs, especially for all technical aspects;
