Job Description: Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC) – Branch Manager

Background:
Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC) was established on the 20th of June, 1969 under the Public Enterprises Decree of 1966, Legal Notice No.11 of 1969. It is now operating under the Public Investment Act No. 4 of 2002. ZIC is a Parastatal organization owned by the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar through the Ministry of Finance and Planning.

Brief:
ZIC is seeking a competitive Insurance Branch Manager to help expand our business by actively seeking and acquiring new clients. The goal is to foster strong relationships to ensure growth and maintain Zanzibar Insurance Corporation’s prestige. The Corporation invites qualified Tanzanians to fill one post for the position mentioned below:

Position: Branch Manager
Location: Dar es Salaam, Coastal Zone
Terms of Employment: Employment contract for a specified period

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily operations of the Dar es Salaam branch and ensure smooth functioning.
• Develop and implement business strategies to achieve sales and growth targets.
• Build and nurture relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
• Lead, train, and develop branch staff to meet performance and service goals.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and ensure client satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with insurance regulations, company policies, and procedures.
• Prepare regular financial and performance reports to monitor branch success.
• Direct and control the branch team to ensure they are motivated and aligned with ZIC objectives.
• Prepare daily sales reports and other reports as may be requested by management.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance and Risk Management, or a related field.
• At least seven years of experience in the insurance sector, with a minimum of three years in a management role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
• Proven track record in sales, business development, and achieving targets.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with insurance industry regulations and best practices.

Remuneration:
Remuneration will be according to the ZIC salary scales and other terms and conditions of ZIC.
