JOB DETAILS:
BESIX Ballast Nedam (BBN) Limited, the CONTRACTOR for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of the Jetty and Load out Facilities in the Tanga Bay for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project, invites job application for Steelfixer Foreman.

Purpose and scope of assignment
Certified Welder will be responsible for welding various metal components to AWS or EN 9606-1 standards. The ideal candidate preferred to have a proven track record of welding experience in the oil and gas industry and be able to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Job responsibilities
• Create schedules for steel crew members and ensure that they are properly followed.
• Welding components to AWS or EN 9606-1 standards using various welding techniques (e.g. TIG, MIG, Stick welding) with 6G position.
• Reading and interpreting welding blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings to ensure proper welding techniques and procedures are followed.
• Inspecting and testing welded joints to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety procedures and wearing appropriate protective equipment.
• Maintaining welding equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Collaborating with other team members and communicating with supervisors to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Documenting welding procedures and techniques to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Continuously improving welding skills and knowledge through training and professional development opportunities.

Job qualification, experience and skills.
Applicant should possess the following.
• Civil Diploma, VETA or other equivalent qualification.
• Certification in welding to AWS or EN 9606-1 standards is a must.
• At least 5 years of experience in welding in the oil and gas industry.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting welding blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when necessary

Level of Education:
Associate Degree
