JOB DETAILS:
Mwiba Holdings Limited is a registered Tanzanian Company under Companies Ordinance (Cap. 212) and a leading Hospitality Company with Operations in Arusha, Meatu-Simiyu and Mara Regions. We are currently looking for a Concession Manager to be part of our team. The position will be based in Meatu Tanzania.
Role’s Summary: Concession Manager is responsible for ensuring that the Companies’ Wildlife Management Area is managed in accordance with Company’s vision and mission as well as the TAWA directives and guidelines, work to further infrastructure maintenance, data monitoring, liaison with TAWA, and in support of community Development Manager liaise with local communities
KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Administration:
• To advice and help management secure, protect and maintain investment areas (concessions)
• To advise management on issues related to relationships between the company, government institutions and the general public.
• To be a link and manage communications between the company, government institutions, local authorities and general public for the betterment of the company.
• Identify any threats and conflict of interest between company and individuals or institutions and advise the company on how best these situations can be resolved.
• To identify and develop strategies intending to improve relationships with government institutions and the general public for the purpose of ensuring smooth operations.
• To assist management whenever possible with business Management, including (but not restricted to) acquiring legal permits and licenses required for running the business and/or providing quality services.
• To ensure that all projects are completed on time and within the allocated budget, this shall include ensuring that where applied the engaged contractors deliver their works according to their specific terms of engagement.
2. Liaison:
• To work closely with TAWA, NCAA, TANAPA and Local authorities at all levels and maintain regular communications with them, to develop and promote an effective, productive, and cooperative working relationship between company staff and TAWA, NCAA, TANAPA and local authorities.
• To promote and improve the current levels of partnership, mutual trust and understanding with all MHL and Mwiba Concessions, District, Regional, WMA TAWA, NCAA and TANAPA officials working alongside company managers in the field, and to assess their institutional and political feelings and assist them whenever and however possible with appropriate logistic and technical support.
• To work closely with the FCF, TGTS, Mwiba Managers and maintain regular communications with them on issues related to public relations and compliance.
3. Research:
• Advice and where necessary help research unity in identifying research opportunities and setting research goals and objectives for the purpose of improving conservation status of resources within TGTS, and Mwiba concessions and their larger ecosystems.
• To approve and provide input on research conducted by FCFT and ensure that the findings are integrated into management plans.
• Advice management on issues related to research and research priorities that are beneficial to the company
4. Community Development:
• To advise and where necessary assist community Development Manager on policies and procedures related to community conservation works and projects.
• To advise and support community development managers in identification and prioritization of projects and potential funding opportunities.
• To advise the community development department on proper procedures of evaluating and assessing development projects and community perceptions towards the company investments.
PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS
Education:
• Diploma/bachelor’s degree in Wildlife or related field
• Proven proficiency in computerized applications to Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) and basic Google Suite.
Experience and Skills:
• Five (5) years’ experience working in Wildlife.
• Knowledge of United Republic of Tanzania laws and policies regarding hunting and conservation as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
• Excellent leadership abilities and communication skills
• GIS experience will be advantageous.
• Assertiveness, patience and good organizational skills.
• Have the ability to work through periods of high demand and be ready to work after hours or on weekends.

• A meticulous degree of pride in their personal presentation.
• Highest level of commitment and dedication especially in dealing with negative situations and the ability to think out of the box.
