Husk is one of the world’s leading rural energy providers. We provide low-cost and reliable power to rural households and businesses, entirely from renewable energy sources. Powering economic possibilities in every village is at the heart of everything we do. We design, build and operate the lowest cost hybrid (solar and biomass) power plant and distribution network in India and Africa. To date, Husk has provided electricity to over 15,000 homes and business, reducing 95,000 tonnes of CO2. Our aim is to provide 30MW of power to 225,000 customers by 2020, and save 350,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.

JOB DETAILS:

Role Summary
This is a great opportunity to gain expertise in solar energy and be part of a growing business. In this role you will be responsible for energy usage and electrical appliance sales across 15 sites, impacting over 3000 customers. You will be reporting to the Customer Development Manager and NOC Manager (cluster operations and customer manager).

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive energy usage and sales across 15 plants, serving upto 200 customers per plant
  • Build a pipeline of local households and businesses to acquire new energy customers
  • Engage with households and businesses to increase energy revenues from existing customers
  • Sell electrical appliances (TVs, fans and refrigerators) to new and existing customers
  • Live in a surrounding tier 2-3 town and undertake extensive travel across plants
  • Great Career Progression Opportunity
  • Successful Customer Development Leads have the potential to progress to a
  • Customer Development Manager or NOC Manager with greater responsibility, team management and compensation within 36 months.

  • You have 2+ years of door-to-door sales experience in rural setting (FMCG, Consumer Durables, MFI preferred)
  • You have a strong track record of over-performing against sales target
  • You are an effective planner and have a strong orientation to process
  • You have hunter mindset, love selling and thrive under pressure
  • You building strong relationship built on trust, and are a strong verbal communicator
