JOB DETAILS:
Helios Towers is a leading independent telecommunications infrastructure company, having established one of the most extensive tower portfolios across Africa. It builds, owns and operates telecom passive infrastructure, providing services to mobile network operators. Helios Towers currently operates in eight markets in Africa and has recently signed agreements to enter four new markets in Africa and Oman in the Middle East.

Overview
The role will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and validating business data to collate and analyze findings, identify trends or anomalies, and share the findings in a manner that can bring about an effective change in the performance and efficiencies of the group.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and support to Data and BI users
• Writing data collection and processing procedures
• Ensuring that data is being correctly gathered, stored, and analyzed
• Reporting data findings to management
• Continually monitor data collection
• Develop methodologies to improve data analysis
• Develop and support BI reports as required
• Address users’ support requests and provide feedback on time
• Maintaining, updating, and modifying existing solutions and generic applications
• Collecting and documenting user feedback with view of correcting the solution where necessary
• Provide system training to new users including writing detailed documentation for the operation of the solution
• Provide training to the business on data governance, data quality and BI reporting toolsets
• Testing sample data sets to confirm the output is as intended

Requirements for the role
• Minimum of 5 years industry experience and 2 years in a similar role Experience as a Data and BI Analyst
• Educated to Degree Level in computer science, engineering, or relevant industry experience
• Industry-related training and certification
• Experience of telecoms or TowerCo industry and multinational FTSE 250 organization preferred
• Experience operationalizing a Data and BI strategy.
• Capture, interpret and document business requirements for the implementation of Data and BI solutions.
• TowerCo / MNO OSS experience desirable.
• Any programming Skills (VB.Net/Java/Python) an advantage
• Operational Excellence and efficiency process knowledge, ITIL or Lean Six Sigma desirable.
• Driving continuous Improvement and innovation.
• Well experienced with application End user support.
• Ability to present data findings via graphics or other illustrations.
• Experience operationalizing a group-wide data management strategy, supporting End user to improve their data quality and experience defining a data quality issues framework and master data model.
• Support Data Owners and Data Stewards across the group
• Informatica, Talend or TIBCO, Power BI, Tableau or QlikView experience.
• 2+ years’ experience writing SQL queries.
• Ability to build robust, semantic BI dashboards.
• Provide BI solutions support, training, and education to the business.
