JOB DETAILS:
Job Description
Director of Empowerment and Accountability will provide strategic managerial, technical leadership and management oversight to the programs. S/he will oversee all aspects of project implementation, including program quality, personnel, and financial management.

S/he will be responsible for Empowerment and Accountability efforts to increase public awareness through knowledge and awareness and people to have greater control over their human rights and seek LHRC’s to strengthen accountability relationships among stakeholders.

S/he will also oversee empowerment programs support people to exercise free and informed those choice over human rights, and influence how they protection are governed. S/he will support the emergence of strong accountability relationships between duty bearers (with responsibility for ensuring human rights) and the individual and groups who have a right to access justice through legal knowledge, advice and support or litigation.

S/he will be responsible for timely and adequate implementation of project activities, deliverables and execution, monitoring and reporting of the program.

Responsibility:
i. Initiate and set goals for programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization.
ii. Plan the programs from start to completion involving deadline, milestones, and processes.
iii. Develop and /or approve directorate budget and operations.
iv. Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvement.
v. Supervise all program and project managers involved to provide feedback and resolve complex problems.
vi. Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people.
vii. Apply change, risk and resource management principles when needed.
viii. Ensure program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies.
ix. Developing strategic plans for the LHRC’s grassroots programs in alignment with its mission and objectives.
x. Overseeing the implementation and execution of programs, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
xi. Providing leadership and direction to program officers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
xii. Monitoring program performance and outcomes and implementing corrective actions as necessary to achieve desired results.
xiii. Establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with internal and external stakeholders, including partners, donors, and beneficiaries.
xiv. Managing program budgets, allocating resources efficiently, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements and regulations.
xv. Identifying opportunities for program expansion, diversification, or improvement, and developing proposals or recommendations accordingly.
xvi. Keeping abreast of Human Rights trends, best practices, and emerging issues relevant to the organizations programs

Experience :
i. Bachelor of laws (LLB)
ii. Master’s degree in business administration, Project Management, Leadership & Governance or Masters in any other related field.
iii. Projects Management certification or any other related competencies.
iv. 10 years working experience in Humans Rights or any related grassroot projects.
v. Self-motivated, ability to plan, prioritize and problem solve independently.
vi. Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in working in a constantly evolving environment.
vii. Ability to build and foster an effective and positive working relationships with colleagues and internal clients.
viii. Outstanding capabilities in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience in Workday and applicant tracking systems a plus.
ix. Ability and commitment to the highest ethical standards including maintaining the confidentiality.
