EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR SERVICES
NYANZAGA GOLD PROJECT
EOI/NGP/026 – EPCM Services

Sotta Mining Corporation Limited (Sotta) is a Tanzanian incorporated joint venture company 84% owned by Perseus Mining Limited (Perseus) and 16% the Government of Tanzania. Sotta is developing the Nyanzaga Gold Project (Nyanzaga) located within the southern area of the Lake Victoria Gold Fields, north-western Tanzania.

Perseus is an established gold producer on the African continent with operations in Ghana and Cote D’Ivoire. Perseus is well funded and is optimising Nyanzaga for mine life and value. The optimisation includes a revision of Nyanzaga processing rate to nominally be 5.5 Million Tonne Per Annum (Mtpa) subject to confirmation in the FEED phase.

 

Sotta wish to engage a professional service provider for Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services for the Project. The Scope of Work is for a nominal 5.5 Million Tonne Per Annum (Mtpa) conventional Carbon-in-Leach (CIL) processing plant and associated infrastructure. Infrastructure includes 11 kV power reticulation, access roads, water supply from Smith Sound Lake Victoria, water treatment facilities, site offices, workshop and laboratory.

SMCL invite professional service providers interested in delivering this scope to submit Expressions of Interest (EOl’s). Expressions of Interest are to be accompanied by documents supporting the following requirements:

  1. Detailed company information including ownership, an organisation structure and details of any Tanzanian operating entity.
  2. Confirmation of the entities ability and commitment to establish an entity which is local content complaint in accordance with the Tanzanian Mining Act, and particularly The Mining (Local Content) Regulations 2018 and any subsequent amendments.
  3. Proven record of successful delivery of EPCM services of this nature to the mining industry, for at least the last 10 years. Provide evidence of recent African gold process plant delivery of capital expenditure greater than $200 Million USD and greater than $400 Million USD for project total capital expenditure. Details provided should include a brief scope of work and the services provided, and the value of these in USD.
  4. Overview of current work under contract including value and assigned resources.
  5. Confirmation of the ability to complete this FEED component including, circuit size optimisation, full project capital cost estimate within +15%/-5% accuracy range, for completion within 4 months for board Final Investment decision in 2024.
  6. Evidence of capability to commence full scale construction in January 2025.
  7. Demonstrable understanding and capability in the development of conventional CIL gold projects of similar size.
  8. Details of a track record of successful CIL gold project deliveries in Africa preferably in at least 3 countries.
  9. Details and experience of Key Personnel proposed for involvement in the project.
  10. A minimum of three references from reputable mining companies, ideally operating in Africa.
  11. A copy of their Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policy, and HSE statistics for the last 3 years.
  12. Verification by means of formal documentation (such as audited financial report) of the company’s financial capacity to deliver the scope of work.

Last date for acceptance of Expression of Interests will be Monday 02 September 2024.

 

Evaluation of the Expressions of Interest will be based on qualification, experience and commercial aspects.

Non compliant submission may not be considered for review.
