JOB DETAILS:
Job Title: Field Extension Officer (1 position)
Location: Mputa-Namtumbo
Supervisor: Coordinator - Agriculture and Livelihoods
Reporting To: Director - Caritas Songea

Major Responsibility:
Mobilize households and provide Extension Services for the implementation of IRDWSEE / Sustainable Agriculture Project

Specific Job Responsibilities:
• Facilitate mobilization of Households to be involved in IRDWSEE Project
• Facilitate formation of farmer groups
• Train farmers/Households in Sustainable Agricultural Practices
• Facilitate timely establishment of demo plot for sustainable agricultural Practices
• Provide day to day support for farmers and monitor the progress
• Sensitize households/farmers on Saving and Internal Lending Community (SILC)
• Collaborate with other staff in facilitating training of lead farmers/ Animators
• Ensure timely collection and submission of M&E/MIS data Fully participate in workshops/training and meetings facilitated

Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Key Working Relationship:
Internal: Caritas team
External: Target Communities and other stakeholders

Qualification and Skills:
• Diploma in Agricultural Production
• At least 3 years experience of working in sustainable agriculture projects
• Demonstrated personal accountability and drive to serve others
• Affinity for partner relationship
• Familiar with gender in development
• Have not been convicted with criminal cases related to child abuse
• Ability to work well as a team
• Knowledge in using computer and data collection-related devices.
• Have good ability to communicate in English and Swahili
• Good interpersonal skills

Ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid driving license
Physical Requirements/Environment: Up to 75% travel in the field
