Apotheker Consultancy (T) is established and incorporated in Tanzania. Apotheker provides technical support, consultancy services and implementation to a range of health programs in Tanzania and beyond with focus on Pharmaceutical services, public health and general health related services.
Apotheker is looking for qualified individuals to support activities in one of its projects aiming at improving child and adolescents’ health in Tanzania. Job positions are for offices located in Dar es salaam
POSITION SUMMARY
The Finance and Operation Manager will report to the Project Lead. The primary responsibilities of the Manager will be to ensure that project operations are efficient and effective and comply with company financial and operations standards, donor and Government requirements. She/he will provide high-level finance & operations management activities. She/he will be in charge of monitoring projects budgets and expenditures and financial reporting.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• The Finance and Operations Manager will support the Project Lead in the management of project, systems, and other resources with the annual work plan and budget to provide timely, cost-effective, responsive, and high-quality operations and administrative support within Tanzania laws and available resources, and in an environment with adequate internal controls, adhering to donor contract requirements, company policies and procedures.
• She/he will guide, control and coordinate all financial work within the project, ensuring that all project financial operations and reporting requirements are fulfilled.
• She/he will lead the program annual budget development & amendment process that includes working closely with technical and operations teams to develop annual work plans, and activity plan budgets.
• Assist in the preparation of company and projects financial reports and documentation as and when required during projects operations and closure according to set and agreed standards.
• Ensure compliance with tax and other relevant Authorities
• Evaluate administrative systems that support the project and make recommendations for improvements.
• Prepare and/or update financial and administrative policies and guidelines, and ensures their implementation within the company.
• Manage and support projects/grant requirement and implementation for the company
• Ensure external financial audits are conducted annually. Review the audit reports, and follow-up to ensure recommendations are implemented.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by the Project Lead and Apotheker administration

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES
• Applying candidate must possess a bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification and Business administration will be added advantage. Candidate should have a minimum of five (5) years of working experience in the reputable organization.
• The candidate should also have demonstrable demonstrated capacity and prior experience and knowledge in managing finance, personnel, administrative and logistics and compliance aspects of donor funded projects in for/not for profit organizations.
• Applying candidate should have wide knowledge of business financial systems e.g. navigator, cost point, SAP, Quick Books, etc. Knowledge in Excel and experience with modeling and analytics are preferred.
• The candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills in Swahili and English with excellent interpersonal communication skills, detailed oriented and demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in team situations
