Job title: General Manager

The Company has a number of wholly owned operations across the United Kingdom, Europe, Turkey, South Africa, Brazil, India, Australia, New Zealand and USA, and joint ventures in Turkey, Africa and Asia. Supported by our distributor network, we supply customers in over 130 countries.
Aviagen East Africa Limited (AEAL) is seeking a General Manager for its Greenfield start-up operation in Arusha, near the Mount Kilimanjaro National Park, in Tanzania. The position reporting to the Board of Directors; and will have overall responsibility/management in researching, developing and implementing a sustainable successful operation which includes but not limited to Grand Parent broiler breeding production, sales, technical support, planning, customer service, administrations, health and safety and financial.

Responsibilities
• Leadership and development of AEAL business and staff to meet financial, commercial and production targets within Aviagen Group
• Engagement with joint venture partners in delivering an overall success
• Preparation and successful implementation of significant capital investment projects
• Management of contractors, working with government and local entities
• Oversee the preparation of financial and management reports to Aviagen Group
• Management of existing customer relationships and attracting new business
• Ensuring Aviagen’s Mission, Vision, and Values are applied in the business unit

Professional Experience
• 10+ years’ poultry experience in production management and customer facing responsibilities
• Professional working experience in Swahili an advantage
• Multinational stakeholder experience desired
• Working joint venture partnership highly desirable

Educational Experience
• Bachelor’s degree within the poultry/business area
