Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MOHCDGEC) with financial support from CDC/PEPFAR is looking for enthusiastic, creative and energetic individuals whom will work under contractual agreement to fill the following vacant positions: .
National Aids Control Program (NACP)
Job Title: HIV Surveillance Officer (1 Position)
Location: Dodoma
Reporting to: Head Strategic Information Unit, NACP
Duties and Responsibilities
: • Coordinate surveillance groups in designing, updating protocols and developing training packages for various HIV surveillance and surveys.
• Work with stakeholders to strengthen and review the HIV surveillance systems based on requirements.
• Coordinate data collection for various surveillance and surveys.
• Work with technical surveillance working group, to analyze surveillance and survey data and produce comprehensive reports.
• Disseminate various surveillance and survey reports to various stakeholders.
• Coordinate all Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) Monitoring and Evaluation activities at the national level such as ensure availability of updated reporting and recording VMMC tools at all levels, availability of quality VMMC data by harmonizing different data sources.
• Participate in data quality assessment.
• Attend different technical meetings as National Trainer for Patient Monitoring System (PMS), Data Quality Assurance (DQA), District Health Information System 2 (DHIS2), and Cascade analysis.
• Participate in resource mobilization activities such as funding proposals for submission to CDC.
Experience and Qualifications
: • Degree of Medicine or a relevant health related degree.
• Post graduate degree in Health Monitoring and Evaluation or Masters of Public Health or Statistics or Epidemiology is an added advantage.
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• Biostatistics and computer literacy will be an added advantage
• Three years working experience in surveillance field.
• Strong communication including proficiency in English and Kiswahili languages and computer skills.
• Age limit: 50 years.

Terms of engagement: 7 months contract - renewable (Renewable based on Performance and availability of funds).
