JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
To oversee all aspects of dnata Airport Operations in Zanzibar to ensure the departments’ contractual obligations are delivered to the concerned stakeholders (customer airlines, freight forwarding companies, private companies, government departments) while controlling capital, income and expense budget. To ensure all organisational strategic projects are completed in line with Project Management best practices. Plan, manage and successfully deliver projects, in compliance with the project practices, standards and processes of the Company, or represent the company in other large scale business projects within the Group.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan

1. Oversee all operational departments including Customer Service, Aircraft Appearance, Turnaround, Baggage, Load Control and Cargo to ensure the safe and cost-effective handling of flights
2. Develops the broad functional strategy for the Airport Operations and ensures it is cascaded down to all employees across the business
3. Ensures that departmental strategies and related strategic plans are developed and implemented
4. Oversees the implementation of policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls to ensure procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled
5. Manages the preparation and consolidation of budgets and monitors financial performance versus the budget
6. Develops and ensures implementation of the highest standard of customer service to the carriers, private companies and cargo agents while controlling the efficient delivery of services
7. Builds and maintains relationships and close contact with company departments, airport agencies to ensure strict coordination and understanding of changing policies, systems and procedures
8. Ensure on-time, in-scope and within budget delivery of all assigned projects. Initiate and manage projects through all stages to ensure that their progress, quality and the outputs in key result areas are consistent with the scope and targets envisaged in the project charter.

11. Leads with Safety by ensuring that decisions are made with safety in mind, role models safety behaviors and holds direct reports accountable for fulfilling their roles in line with the safety vision
12. Ensures the compliance of all relevant safety policies, procedures and controls to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude
13. Ensures the achievement of objectives through the management team by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal to maximise departmental performance.

16. Builds and maintains relationships with customers (internally and externally) to ensure that maximum customer satisfaction and optimum profit for dnata
17. Ensure on-time, in-scope and within budget delivery of all assigned projects to ensure that projects are scoped and initiated in collaboration with Internal Stakeholders and other support functions, agreeing project objectives, desired outcomes, milestones, roles and responsibilities, with the department heads.
18. Ensures Projects are planned professionally and are then reflected in the Project register/ Planning tool of the department. The plan must be realistic, maintained and properly resourced
19. Responsible for the health and safety duty of care at the workplace.
20. Ensure to report any hazards, injuries, ill-health or near miss to your supervisor or employer.
21. Cooperate with your employer when they require something to be done for health and safety at the workplace

Qualifications & Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree or Diploma holder.
2. 8-10 years of experience in airport operations with a ground handling agent including at least 6 years in a managerial role.
3. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of Airport Operations, systems and procedures at an international level.
4. Knowledge of a variety of project management methodologies and practices and advanced IT and Computer Literacy Skills.
