Purpose of role:
The applicant is required to provide technical services in the management, operations and maintenance of the computer centre hardware, software, systems, and related infrastructure of the organization.

Job Description
Day to day responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and manage company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and virtual environment.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
• Collaborate with vendors and other IT staff to identify infrastructure needs and propose innovative solutions to enhance operations.
• Conduct regular system assessments and security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and data protection protocols.
• Ensure enterprise scalability and performance for Servers, storage and backup environments through proactive capacity planning, performance control and configuration adjustment.
• Being responsible in identifying and recommending appropriate changes to infrastructure to improve reliability, performance, capacity, availability, and security.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and technological advancements to provide cutting-edge solutions and drive continuous improvement.

Candidate Specification
• Bachelor’s degree in information & communication technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working with IT systems.

EQUITY FOR TANZANIA LIMITED (EFTA)
• Expertise in managing and optimizing networks, servers, storage systems, and virtualization technologies.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi, Proxmox, Citrix, Microsoft Hyper-V KVM etc
• Must have a good understanding of the core concepts associated with Docker, Docker networking fundamentals and container orchestration technologies.
• Proficient in various operating systems including Windows Operating System, Linux Operating Systems and experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, google Cloud and Other Cloud platforms).
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 tools and applications.
• Strong knowledge of NAS systems and good understanding of file sharing protocols such as NFS, FTP, SFTP, SMB, SCP etc
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and ability to implement robust security measures.
• Strong networking skills and experience working with Next-Gen Firewall (NGFW) preferably Sophos and Fortinet.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
