We are seeking a Junior Software Engineerto work closely with the Sr. EngineeringManager and Engineers to help
design, develop,test and maintain mobile applications (Android) and back ends D-tree is using to build digital systems. You will work under operative supervision of the Software Engineers and will grow in

Roles and Duties
• You are someone whois always curious andan independentworker.You are just as comfortable learningnew software platforms as you are meeting health workers in a village to understand the user experience. You have a passionforusingtechnology toimprovehealthsystems.Maybe youdon’thave a lotof experienceworking intechnical
• organizations, but you have personally learned about Android and other environments, and have created experimental applications, or even contributed to open source projects.
• What you will do
• Your main role will be to work with the D-tree technical team globally and in Tanzania to design, build, deploy and
• maintain web and mobile applications and dashboards, with a focus on Android platforms for HIS, such as
• OpenSRP, DHIS2 and CHT. We support NGOs and governments to improve health systems with the technology
• that bestfits the context.Working with our Engineering team, you will understand and define whatittakes to build
• thedigitalhealth systems toimprovepeople’swell-being andreachourprogramgoals.Youwill workwithplatform
• providers, external software developers and ourteam to build, configure or extend digital health tools. Once applications are deployed, you will manage troubleshooting and user support and participate in continuous evaluation
• and improvement.

Essential qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevantfield demonstrating computer science or software engineering skills (e.g. IT,
• computer science, information systems)
• Excellent analytical skills; ability to think logically and rationally about problems
• Must be able to work independently, multi-task, collaborate with a distributed team
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Committed to solving some of the most pressing development challenges with an interdisciplinary and dedicated team
• Desired qualifications
• Experience with Mobile HIS such as Open SRP or DHIS2
• Experience with Android development
• Personal characteristics A can-do attitude: You remain optimistic in the face of adversity and creatively solve problems to get things done.
