JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities
Comply with AUMS Site Safety Policy.
Mandatory participation in the AUMS Graduate Program, consisting of a minimum of two (2)years working underground.
Support the Senior Mining Engineer and Foreman in providing evidence-based data and provide daily reporting on the operation.
Prepare and present a weekly plan using 7:21 principles.
Forecasting Ground Support and Drill Consumables, with regular stock take of materials.
Quality Control including pull testing of ground support bolts, and explosive product cup testing.
Conduct Mine Control when required, including accurate data collection and provide detailed Shift Mine Report.
Essential Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering (Bsc) within the previous twelve (12) months.
• Enrol to the Engineers Registration Board (ERB), within six(6) months of graduation.
• Compliance to AUMS Site Safety Policy.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Pass Site Medical Examination.
• Provide a satisfactory Certificate of Good Behaviour from the Police Authority.
Additional Requirments
• Discipline knowledge commensurate with studies.
• Demonstrated capacity to make sound and timely decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Valid Tanzanian driver’s licence.
• Basic First Aid certificate.
• Prior experience at an underground mining as part of university Practical Training or equivalent.
