JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose: To manage BME Mining Services Operations at the Tanzanian Mines in accordance with all company SHEQ procedures & standards, to meet customer requirements on site and maintain close communication with head office in South Africa.

Accountabilities

• Safely, Health Environment Security
  
• Operate within the BME SHE standards
  
• Performance job and transport audits to ensure EDIE safe working practices and environ mental standards are being fully employed
  
• Maintenance of personnel training levels, equipment inspections and inventory records in compliance with company and legal requirements
  
• Compliance with plan! Operating procedures, including: work permits, confined space entry, control of change, PPE application, and record keeping, security management and employee handbook
  
• No safely, health and environmental incidents
  
• Deliver the SHES plan for Tanzania including action management and audit plan
  
• No product transport indents
  
• No personnel accidents to self or direct reports
  
• No preventable security incursions or thefts
  
• Understanding and demonstrated leadership for the BoS for all operation

Commercial Minded

• Generation of monthly production volume and Operational KPI reports
  
• Implementation of “par1icipative management” ‘approach including empowerment and active consultation with employees on plant and management system improvements
  
• Continuous variable production cost reduction.
  
• Continuous fixed cost reduction
  
• Continuous inventory optimization
  
• Active employee development towards highly-level capability
  
• Fixed cost budget generation and compliance
  
• Sale and Operators Planning process implementation and delivery
  
• Support business growth at Tanzania Mine.

Entrepreneurial Spirit

• Continuous improvement of administrative systems to advantaging customer and BME
  
• Implementaton of new customer-focused product formulations (and types) in conjunction with R&D development team
  
• Direct government agency liaison to facilitate ease of customer and BME operations
  
• Support the value in use program, scooping studies and other technically/operations initiatives
  
• Support and manage business efficiency programs

Working Together
Interface with International SHE and supply chain (logistics and production) teams Support of the International operators in the form of information sharing and audit provision Work with local communities (in conjunction with Clients) to facilitate community knowledge and acceptance of Tanzania operations Demonstrated leadership for the Tanzania Operations team

Operating environment
Tanzania Mine Sites normal working hours 07h00-17h00 Mon-Sat extended working hours will be required from time to time as business needs dictate

Education and Experience

• Technical Degree (Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Mining Engineering Preferred)
  
• Safety training
  
• 2 years MMU operations management experience
  
• 5 years’ experience in explosives production facilities
  
• Experience in open cut mining
  
• Extensive Knowledge of BME product range
