JOB DETAILS:
Experienced Mountain Climbing & Safari Company in Arusha is looking for an Operations manager.

Vacancy Summary
Position Title: Operational Manager
Reporting to: General Manager
Supervises : Large groups of mountain porters and guides
Duty station: Serengeti Explorer
Salary: Competitive Salary package
Start: Mid of December, 2023
Salary: Awarded Good package

The Successful Candidates must have:
• A high level of integrity
• Honesty and transparency in all areas and will report direct to the GM
• Able to manage and lead large groups of mountain porters and guides
• Preferably middle aged and mature, and able to work independently
• A business management diploma or accounting diploma
• Minimum 5 years operations experience, preferably in the safari or mountain sector
• Computer skills in various software programs and able to grasp new programs relative to the industry
• Flexibility in hours, nights and weekends, and often on call in the event of an emergency
• Excellent communication skills
• Very accurate and efficient in figures, spreadsheets, banking, contracts, costings etc.
• Ability to multi task is very important
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks
• Collect guest information while speaking to guests; inform the Management to record and act- on guest preferences.
• Report all guest complaints or urgent assistance requests to Management immediately
• To strictly adhere to the established operating expenses and financial procedures.

Prerequisites:
• Must be able to communicate in English writing and speaking and other languages are advantages. Good personality and Positive interpersonal skills required.
• Excellent knowledge on guiding and driving.
• Excellent knowledge on guest service standards (property and company).
• Excellent knowledge of fire, hygiene, health and safety principles (property and company standards).
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of all dietary requirements.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of first aid.
• Excellent knowledge of hygiene.
• Sound knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance.

Education:
• Diploma in Wildlife Management or Tourism studies
• Previous experience working as a Operation officer(minimum of 5 years’ experience).

• Must work accurately under pressure.
• People skills – tolerance, patience and caring at all times.
• Excellent hosting skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent hygiene principles.
