Job Summary
We are looking for a Pharmaceutical Technician to work in a corporate clinic pharmacy, assisting the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring accurate labeling and packaging of prescriptions. They will provide excellent customer service, answer patient inquiries, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. The role requires strict adherence to regulatory standards and company policies to ensure patient safety and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain inventory levels by ordering necessary medications and supplies and verifying deliveries against purchase orders.
• To provide friendly customer services at prescription drop-off and pick-up counters.
• To dispense medications according to written prescription with 100% accuracy.
• Ensure pharmacy is secure, clean, well-stocked and that policies are in place regarding the provision of a safe and efficient service.
• Provide patients with accurate and detailed information regarding their prescriptions and other pharmacy requirements.
• Provide advice and technical support to medical and nursing staff in relation to pharmacy requirements.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory always ensuring adequate stock control and stock on hand.
• Assist in the development of new, revised, and renewed pharmacy policy and procedure in line with ongoing changes to service.
• Review instances of medication errors.
• Provide daily, weekly, monthly reports on pharmacy activity, quality management, client services or any concerns regarding the provision of pharmacy services.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
• Diploma in Pharmacy from recognized/registered training institution.
• Enrolled with the Pharmacy Council of Tanzania as a Pharmaceutical Technician.
• Minimum 3 years proven working experience as Pharmaceutical Technician.
• Excellent Customer Service skills.
• Knowledge of Computer Skills on MS Excel, Word and Internet Mailing.
• A strong command in English and Swahili Language.
