BESIX Ballast Nedam (BBN) Limited, the CONTRACTOR for the Engineering, procurement and Construction of the Jetty and Load Out Facilities in the Tanga Bay for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project, invites application for Piping Supervisor

Purpose and scope of assignment.
The Piping Supervisor will be responsible to supervise and coordinate Piping scope of work, which consist of Installation and Pre-Commissioning, and ensure the successful completion of projects. This position requires a keen eye for detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to lead and motivate a team to complete projects assignments on time and within budget. The Piping Supervisor will also be responsible for monitoring activities to be done by our Sub-contractor or any other third party.

Job responsibilities
• Candidate should have hands on experience on Piping Installation (CS&GRE), PreCommissioning (Hydrotest, Flushing, Blowing, Cleaning), Insulation and Reinstatement works.
• Supervise and approve construction activities and co-ordinate various aspects of project construction including inspections, material submissions and working drawings from contractors, and processing documentation as required.
• Organize, coordinate and supervise construction activities in accordance with construction schedules, monitor and review so as to complete the works on time and within budget.
• Resolve difficulties and problems in discussion with contractor representatives and, if necessary, also with Piping Works Manager.
• Assist, as required, the Construction Warehouse Organization with inspection of material and equipment received and the preventive maintenance of equipment stored.
• Handle all aspects of Mechanical Construction activities including site investigations, site surveys.
• Work closely with both BBN and client Supervisors (Piping and QC).
• Report to client Senior Construction Supervisor on main issues, events at the site, progress reporting, trends and recommendation for improvement.
• Manage the completion of all required deliverables including scope of work write-ups, isometrics, piping plans, tie-in lists, construction photos, and bills of materials.
• Fully align with project safety standards and ensure tasks will be conducted in field in a safe manner.
• Ensuring proper handling and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment
• Monitoring and handling inventory purchases.
• Reviewing work procedures and suggesting improvement measures.
• Providing moral and technical support when needed.

Job Qualification, Experience and Skills
• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven work experience in the Piping discipline and hands on experience on Oil and Gas projects.
• Expertise on Piping Isometrics, support drawings, P&IDs.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Displaying leadership qualities.
• An eye for detail and the ability to troubleshoot issues.
• Knowledge of safety and industry standards.
• Highly motivated.
• Analytical and decision-making skills.
• Possessing sound technical knowledge.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other technical departments.
• Ability to work at long hours and in extreme weather conditions.
