RSK’s first work in Africa was in Angola in 2001 supporting clients working on offshore deepwater prospects with environmental impact assessment (EIA) services. Now, we operate in countries across the continent providing a range of services that includes environmental, social and health impact assessments (ESHIA) and attendant management plans; site investigation and remediation of soil and groundwater pollution; due diligence; and an array of other services, including social milieu requirements for oil and gas, mining, industrial and government clients. Plant Fabrication and Maintenance Engineer – Dar es Salaam

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Plant and Maintenance Engineer to join RSK Environment (East Africa) Ltd to help us deliver environmental remediation services (clean-up of soil and groundwater) in the country. If you are focused, committed and ready to take on new challenges, then read on.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Equipment servicing and maintenance in accordance with the company integrity system
• Pre- assembling and testing of treatment systems at our yard
• Mobilising equipment to site
• Installation, commissioning and operation of treatment systems on-site
• Overseeing technician operations and reporting to the Operations Manager
• Adherence to company safety, health environment and quality (SHEQ) management system procedures and embracing our safety culture
• The role will involve hands on site work, working away from home on a regular basis and travel throughout Tanzania.
Desired experience:
Previous experience is not mandatory; however ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate experience with the following:
• Trailer towing and CH (heavy goods vehicle) licence.
• Ability to operate forklifts
• Practical experience with mechanical, electrical and process engineering including equipment installation commission and maintenance
• Working knowledge of pressure vessels, vacuum systems, air strippers / scrubbers or similar operations would also be advantageous
• Knowledge of soil or water treatment technologies would be preferred

Person Specification:
• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Plant Maintenance or Fabrication is preferred but not mandatory
• Proven working experience in equipment/machinery maintenance
• Driving licence
• Ability to travel and work away
• Team player
• Strong organisational skills and able to communicate with project teams
• Strong quality, health and safety culture
• Computer literate
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving abilities
