Job Opportunity: Programme Officer – Agronomist

Rikolto in Tanzania is seeking a Programme Officer – Agronomist to support the implementation of two key projects: Vijana Kilimo Biashara (VKB) and the Joint Programme on Accelerating Progress Towards Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment (JP RWEE). These projects aim to enhance the adoption of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and improve post-harvest handling, while promoting sustainable agricultural practices for smallholder farmers in the regions of Singida and Dodoma.

The Programme Officer will work closely with farmers, local partners, and stakeholders, providing technical agronomic support, coordinating field activities, and ensuring effective project implementation. Key responsibilities include identifying regional constraints and opportunities within the sunflower and sorghum value chains, leading pest control campaigns, and collaborating with local coaches and government extension officers.

Key Roles:
• Assist in identifying constraints and opportunities in the sunflower and sorghum value chains.
• Drive market linkages and build relationships with stakeholders.
• Provide training and technical assistance to local coaches and peer facilitators.
• Collaborate with monitoring and evaluation teams to collect and report program data.
