JOB DETAILS:
NORPLAN Tanzania Ltd (NORPLAN) is a multidisciplinary firm of Consulting Engineers registered with Engineers Registration Board as a Local Consulting Company under Registration Number LCF 092. NORPLAN is a member of Association of Consulting Engineers Tanzania (ACET).

Due to the expansion of our consultancy services, we are seeking applicants for the post of QC Advisor (Coating & Insulation).

Job Brief
The Quality Control Advisor for Coating will report functionally to the Construction QC Supervisor and on a day-to day basis to the nominated delivery manager. The Advisor for Coating will be responsible for coordinating all EPCM Vendor Construction Contractors for coating quality issues. The post will support the Company Contractor with technical issues and support Construction QC Supervisor with Coating issues.

Role and Responsibilities
The Advisor Coating will also be responsible for providing surveillance of assigned Company Contractor by:
1. Performing / witnessing quality inspections
2. Ensuring ITP’s and referenced procedures are adhered to
3. Validation of COMPANY CONTRACTOR test results A. Signing off on relevant intervention points on ITP’s
4. Liaising with relevant Quality Leads on status / progress / non-conforming actions /- tests / – materials
5. Filing relevant records and compiling daily reports
6. Facilitating the COMPANY CONTRACTOR’S management of any detected nonconformance
7. Overseeing the progressive compilation of Mechanical Completion Dossiers

Qualification
1. Degree qualification (BS) in mechanical engineering or other company agreed applicable discipline qualification that supports coating and insulation.
2. Minimum of 5 years practical experience in surveillance of Welding / NDE
3. Coating Advisors shall be certified to the equivalent of BGAS/CSWIP Grade II, NACE Level II or SSPC and ICORR Level II as a minimum.
4. Required Competencies
5. Proven experience in civil / structural engineering and surveillance
6. Experience with multi-national contractors, in particular those involved in the construction of pipelines projects would be an advantage
7. Excellent Communication skills
8. Ability to use MS Office (word, excel, Outlook, Power point) competently Understanding of Time / Distance planning programs
9. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Analytical and problem-solving skills
10. High level of safety awareness
