1.0 Background.HelpAge International is a global network of organizations promoting the right of all older people to lead dignified, healthy and secure lives. HelpAge International in collaboration with AFRIWAG in Tanzania, MANEPO in Malawi and HelpAge International Mozambique Country Office, is implementing two-years project which started from 1st August 2021. The title of the project is “Supporting timely screening and diagnosis of HIV and AIDS, early ART initiation and good ART adherence for the 50+ population experiencing NCDs and intersectional vulnerability”. In Tanzania, the project is being implemented in four councils of Korogwe and Handeni Districts.
The objective of the project is to support community-based institutions and health systems to deliver SRH services, access to healthy ageing, integrated screening, management, treatment and adherence support for 50+ population with comorbidity of HIV and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) among the 50+ population in Tanzania. This is to be achieved through 5 results which include increasing awareness of the intersectional vulnerability due to HIV status, gender, ageing, NCDs and the available SRH services for population aged 50+ and adolescent living in multigenerational households.
Result 4 of the project has an activity on Research to provide greater understanding of the barriers and enablers for access to HIV screening, treatment services and treatment adherence for HIV+ aged 50+ considering gender and disability statuses.
In support of the Government’s efforts to support community-based institutions and health systems to deliver SRH services, access to health ageing, integrated screening, management, treatment and adherence support for 50+ population with comorbidity of HIV and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Tanzania through this project, HelpAge is looking for a Local Consultant who will conduct a research in the project area in Tanzania that will provide greater understanding of the barriers and enablers for access to HIV screening, treatment services and treatment adherence for HIV+ aged 50+ considering gender and disability statuses.

3.0 Information required

4.0 SubmissionThe deadline for submission will be on 25th May 2023 not later than 12.00. Any submission that will be received after above specified date and time shall not be considered.
