JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
To execute the compliance program and facilitate the risk management and compliance activities of the firm

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for the timely identification, assessment, mitigation and reporting, and escalation of all identified operational and compliance risk exposures.
• Conduct workshops with the business for risk and control assessments as per the Business Unit annual RCA plan.
• Keep up to date with, and understand, relevant laws and regulations governing the business entity
• Monitor compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures
• Advise management and the board on the company’s compliance with laws and regulations and other compliance risks through detailed reports
• Participate in the development and review of organizational policies and procedures
• Collaborate with other departments to create a culture of compliance
• Ensure AML and KYC policies are in place are adhered to
• Ensure timely, efficient reporting of suspicious transactions
• Monitor and provide advice to management to minimize risk resulting from poor internal controls
• Secretary to the Management Risk Committee Meetings and ensure papers and minutes are circulated in a timely manner
• In conjunction with the International Business Risk and Compliance Manager, perform annual BCP/DR risk analysis, planning, testing or live execution for your specific line of business
• Monitor BU compliance with specific obligations, including risk and control assessment and support incident management related to compliance failures. incident perform root cause analysis
• Conducting staff training programs that build risk awareness within the business entity;
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time as described in your Personal Score Card
• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, finance, business administration or related field
• Accreditation in risk management is an added advantage.
• 2 – 4 years’ experience in compliance and / risk management
• Compliance risk management experience in insurance or banking sector is an added advantage.
• Experience in law will be an added advantage
