  • Job purpose: Responsible for implementing and monitoring safety protocols to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards across all operations.
  • Minimum requirements:
    • Degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or Risk and Assurance.
    • SAMTRAC certificate / ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 implementation course.
    • Certificates in HIRA, Accident Prevention, and Investigation.
    • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act No. 5 of 2003, NEM Act 2004, Worker’s Compensation Act, and relevant standards.
    • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
    • Valid driving license (Class A, A1, and D).
    • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including report writing.
    • Computer literacy.
    • Willingness to work abnormal hours and holidays when required.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Support field operations with safety requirements.
    • Enforce company policies, procedures, Safety, Health Regulations, and Standards.
    • Develop procedures and plans to reduce employee risk.
    • Conduct SHERQ trainings.
    • Conduct monthly safety inspections.
    • Perform accident or incident investigations.
    • Participate in internal and external audits, logging, and tracking audit findings.
    • Perform weekly and monthly reports.
    • Log and control revision status of all procedures and maintain a document control register and the SHERQ electronic database.
    • Implement, drive, and manage the SHERQ culture at the workplace.
