We offer short- and long-term positions both in Tanzania and abroad. Our volunteers include writers who contribute remotely, staff who provide office support, and teachers who live at our staff house for an entire school year and work in the classroom daily.
Red Sweater Project is accepting applications for a School Director to manage the operations, managerial, administrative and human resource operations of the Mungere School.
The School Director coordinates the daily functions of the Mungere School in Tanzania, communicates with operations in the United States, and provides administrative support for organizational operations, reporting to the Executive Director.
Start Date Salary
June 15, 2019 DOE; housing + benefits.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for day-to-day operations of the school
• School Human Resource Manager, recruitment and management of all school personnel (staff, volunteers, contractors, etc.)
• School and policy development, education and curriculum research and development
• Project Manager in conjunction with the Executive Director and Operations Manager
• Maintain positive working relationships with government personnel, community partners and stakeholders
• Visitor and visitor group liaison, including visitor correspondence and coordination
• Other projects and program tasks as necessary

Qualifications
• Minimum 4-year university degree in Education, advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in educational administrative role, principal/head of school
• Extensive experience living in Africa or in a developing country
• Professionalism and passion
• Organization and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work individually and as part of a diverse team
