Tanzania Development and AIDS Prevention Association (TADEPA) is a Tanzania non-governmental organization (NGO) with neutral offices in Kagera region was formed and registered in 1997 under the Trustees Incorporation Ordnance of 1956. TADEPA acquired a certificate of compliance of June 2005 under the new Tanzania NGO Act of 2002 and in 2009 TADEPA was mandated to work in Tanzania mainland.
The main purpose of TADEPA is to enhance development in totality and fight against HIV/AIDS and its integrated effects.

TADEPA is seeking to recruit suitably qualified 2 candidates to work under USAID Sauti Project in Kahama Town Council. The main goal of Sauti is to contribute to the improvement of health status of all Tanzanians through prevention of new HIV infections among Key and Vulnerable Populations including Adolescent Girls and Young Women
To facilitate the smooth implementation of this programme, we are looking for suitable candidates to fill the following post required and qualified candidates:

Economic Social Economic Empowerment Officer (1 Post)


JOB LOCATION: Kahama- Shinyanga
REPORTING TO: Program Manager
DURATION: One year/Renewable
SALARY: Attractive package

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Directly support Empowerment workers in their respective wards
  • Work closely with program manager to ensure Empowerment Workers (EWs), Peer Educators , biomedical teams are accountable in the manner that ensure all deliverables are delivered to WORTH+ groups with efficiency and timely.
  • Ensure that EWs provide facilitation support for WORTH to ensure that destitute Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) are able to join WORTH groups.
  • Conduct overarching mapping of Economic strengthening service providers in implementation area.
  • Work closely with Local Government Authorities to ensure Sauti project is implemented as per standard operating procedures
  • Ensure linkage and referral of AGYW to USAID Kizazi Kipya for screening and enrollment in their eligible care
  • Roll out a Household Financial Literacy and Money Management curriculum to EWs and ensure quality roll out to WORTH group members.
  • Lead the creation of trade network and leading and sharing cohorts with industry types.
  • Train EWs to roll out a self assement tool with mature groups, establish relationships with pro-poor financial institutions.
  • Serve as ahead for youth related activities including conducting an organizational youth assessment, implementation action items from the assessment, ensuring establishment and high quality support to AGYW, and ensuring delivery of WORTH focused curriculums.
  • Provide continuous supportive supervision to EWs to ensure quality economic strengthening programming.
  • Ensure disbursement of monthly allowances and working tools eg bicycles to Empowerment Workers
  • Ensure timely preparation of financial retirement with all necessary source of evidence to be shared with Account with focus on every incurred expense during project implementation
  • Prepare month and Submit timely economic strengthening and Structural related activities to the program manager for inclusion in the quarterly, semiannual and annual reports
  • Document lessons learnt and best practices for experience sharing and replication.
  • Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the Project manager

Requirement
Education
Bachelor Degree in Project Planning, Social Work, Sociology, public health or other social science related to that job.

Skills and experience

  • Experience in HIV interventions and other health services.
  • Community health experiences and capacities.
  • Experiences in working with Household Financial Literacy and Money Management curriculum to EWs
  • Ability to build relationship Vulnerable segmented of population orphans, Adolescent Girls and Young Women at community levels.
  • Able to work with families in economic strengthening/WORTH model empowerment Workers different district council levels.
  • Computer literacy is highly required.
  • Able to relate gender norms, social & culture and HIV/AIDS in addressing their challenges accordingly.
