JOB DETAILS:
Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
• Represent TechnoServe’s TAA Program country activities through reports, presentations, hosting of leadership, donor or stakeholder site visits and other communications as required.
• Support the validation of processor level data mapping, incorporating industry insights, and conducting key informant interviews as needed.
• Identify, review, and select prospective companies for program support, familiarizing them with the TAAP service offerings and objectives.
• Support 3rd party technical consultants in conducting a fortification needs assessment and/or other technical assistance projects as they emerge.
• Review and update National LSFF resources (available updated standards, technical manuals, and training modules) for target food vehicles to be stored on TAAP knowledge hub platform, as well as key data currently captured in activity tracking databases.
• Support the coordination of program convenings by engaging with industry representatives, SFPs, and other stakeholders to participate.
• Deliver country-level progress status during update meetings with both internal and external stakeholders (including the donor, TAAP global management team, TNS country management teams, and SFPs).
• Identify areas of convergence and value add with other TNS food processing programs in Tanzania
Deliverables:
The Consultant will carry out the following tasks to achieve the stated objectives in this TOR:
• Updated processor mapping for target food vehicles (Flour and Edible Oil), including list of operational facilities, associated brands, and installed/utilized capacity
• Ongoing collection and management of food processor level data, using/adapting existing program trackers or tools
• Scheduled meetings, and subsequent onboarding to TAAP, with at least 5 processors within each target food vehicle
• Monthly update report on progress status, in the form of written documents, presentation decks or other communication as required.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, Business Administration or related fields + 7 years relevant experience OR Master’s Degree + 5 years relevant experience in developing and managing projects, preferably in the design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of PPP programs in developing countries
• Experience working in the food industry in Tanzania
• Ability to work in a multi-sectoral environment
• Detail orientation, including strong organizational, analytical and quantitative skills
• Proven team player with strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills
• Outstanding written communication skills including prior experience editing and proofreading documents
• Strong project management skills including the ability to anticipate demand and manage multiple tasks and projects while meeting tight deadlines.
• Computer literacy with excellent Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills
