Singida Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (SUWASA) was established under section 3(1) of cap 282 1998‘ as repealed by section 60 of Water and Sanitation Act No.12 of 2009. SUWASA is charged with the overall responsibility of operations and management of Water Supply and Sanitation services in Singida urban within the Municipality.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, dynamic, experienced and performance driven Tanzanians to fill the following posts:-

Technician I (Mechanical)

Required Qualifications
Holders of an Ordinary Diploma or full Technician Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Motor Vehicles Mechanics, electrical Engineering, from any recognized Technical institution with experience of at least of three (3) years in water supply and sewerage industry. Computer literacy is a must.

Duties and responsibilities

• To carry out mechanical inspection and repair for all surface and submersible pumps, motor vehicles, motorcycles and plants used to the production unit on weekly basis
  
• To carry out inspection, maintenance and repair of electrical systems for motor vehicles /cycles and keep maintenance and repair records of the same
  
• To undertake service of all surface pumps twice per month and at least bearing, couplings rubbers and replaced each year
  
• To recommend motor vehicles/cycles requiring mechanical maintenance and repair work in external garages.
  
• To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Technical Manager
  
• Age Limit: not above 40 years
